Light duty forks,
November 3, 2009
By Sr1225
from El Dorado Kansas
"These forks are the best built that I have looked at, They are very heavy duty. They were put on my 5 foot bucket on my 30 horse John Deer And screwed down tight ( no movement). No problem lifting or carrying anything that my little tractor will pick up. Don't pass these up for the price. The others I checked on were twice the price. And thanks to Joanna at Northern for helping me find them. I even got a transcript of our chat. Thanks again."

Forks move 16' logs with minimal problems,
October 20, 2009
By optyman

"Spent the day assisting a local Girl Scout camp haul 16-inch diameter pine logs, up to 16-foot long from the cutting location to throughout the camp. They were planning on using these logs around campfires for sitting. This was a good opportunity to use these forks. I could haul up to three of these logs at one time with my compact 33 hp John Deere tractor with 1/4 yard bucket with these forks clamped on tight. After getting one log in position on the forks, I could manuveur another log on, as long as I had someone hold the first log on the forks while I slightly tilted and moved forward my forks. Had to check the tightness of the clamps often, as they did tend to loosen up with use. I agree with previous posts, as these do slide on occassion. Also, it seems that I might want to weld a plate of steel where these clamp on the bucket, as they did put a small round indentation in the bucket. We were able to move 50 plus logs around like they were matchsticks. Great product! I only rate 4 stars instead of 5 because of the constant checking tightness of the forks. Maybe if they were too tight, they may have created more of an indentation where the clamp meets the bucket?!?!"

"Paynes forks do all that they are rated for, 1200 lbs. Easy to install, adjustable width on bucket.
My tractor is 25 hp so I bought the light weight forks and they are worth every dollar I paid. I move 800+ lb. bales of hay and as you can see in the pics they work great. Made from high quality steel and with craftsmanship that will last a life time. They will pick up what ever the tractor will lift.
Five star rating from me. If someone could say something negative about this product they evidently don't own one. The price is fair also.

"I always look at Northern for stuff I need First. They have good prices and usally lower then there compettiors.Their tools and equipment are quality .It is easy to order on line, and shipped usally same day or next day.I bought a set PAYNES forks for my compact tractor that work great for unloading stuff off trucks. They just slip on the bucket and tien down,it takes about one or two minute to install or take off.I would recommend these fork to any one that is looking for a easy way to unload pallets etc, with out removing complete front bucket. Make sure you know your rear weight."

"These forks are great, I use them on my Tractor bucket, Bobcat skid loader and Magnatrac depending on what I'm lifting and how far I have to travel. The only thing to watch for is they tend to crawl a little when securing them with the thumbscrew. Life has been allot simpler since these forks arrived.
If you have anything with a loader bucket, get a set you won't regret it.

Paynes Forks, Light Duty Model#PF800,
March 23, 2009
By mg3320
from Battle Creek Michigan
"I purchased the Payne light duty forks for use on my JD3320 compact tractor primarily to move pallets, bush, and to clear a barn full of light scrap metal- mostly old fencing and metal gates.
Pros: Attaches easily to the bucket with the setscrews provided
Well-built and finished
Cons: Screws will slightly mar the paint and surface of the bucket
Must remove wear bar from the bottom of the bucket for proper fit
Attachment setscrews may cause some material (brush, loose metal) to hang-up upon dumping – a minor problem
NOTES:
1). The area around the attachment point for the forks is prone to some deformation.
if you repeatedly lift heavy loads.
2). I would recommend purchasing the Payne Fork Stabilizer Bar as this device will keep the forks from spreading apart during use."

clamp on forks,
March 16, 2009
By 45acp11

"I use these on the loader bucket of my Kubota. I have several acres of brush to clear and these forks make the job of transporting brush much easier. I have the light duty ones, but I am sure they are sturdy enough for lifting anything which my tractor is capable of picking up. I recommend them. Larger, more powerful loaders may make us of the heavier duty versions.

"This forks slide on the front end loader and work great. If you have a small tractor with a light weight loader you will have to weld some steel plates under the bucket to support the clamps. I have been using them to lift all kinds of stuff."

logger forks,
November 17, 2008
By kubotagirl
from Northern MI
"Used on a 38hp Kubota diesel front loader. Getting wood from the hilly, thickly wooded acreage was made much easier. If the Kubota could get there ... it could carry twice the payload out. because of the forks. Only drawback is the logs getting stuck behind the screw in handles.I would dump the bucket and find that there were two or three logs still in it. Other than that they really work well. You need to make sure the forks are on tight an extra kick to tighten helped . Glad we purchased them."

Paynes Forks,
November 17, 2008
By Pecos
from North Texas
"I bought these for my LA 481 loader on a Kubota L3410 tractor. I use them for moving logs and hauling brush and they are perfect in that application. They are very well made and I was impressed with the quality of workmanship and construction. I also bought the logger forks attachment, but could have done without them as I found the bucket itself serves the purpose of a backstop for logs. If you are considering this product, you might want to purchase the stabilizer bar (item no: 103617) to keep the forks partallel during anything other than light duty. I should have done that vice the logger attachment. All in all, a great product."

Fit your loader,

By stbryan22

"Nice product, little bit expensive. Only drawback with my Koyker Loader on the Kubota is that it will not fit all the way on the way it is intended. The loader bucket is slightly thicker than the attachment point of the forks. With some grinding I can make it fit."

"i thought that the forks would work better than they did. if you didn't have them tight enough they would move sideways. i bought them to use on my skidloader they work ok but not as good as i thought they would. but for the money i spent they are ok. i like the catalog it has alot of excellent items in it.
i have purchased a few of them.

Paynes Forks Review,
August 13, 2008
By FARMDC
from Dallas, TX
"After receiving the forks I quickly put them to the test. I have a John Deere 990 that can lift up to 800lbs and these fork perform excellent with the heavy loads. I was able to move and stack 12 inch I-beam over 20 feet long with no problem. There is no doubt that these forks do what the claim they can do. The only thing I did notice is the forks like to kick in or out on you (not Stay straight). You need to make sure you have them tightened down very tight. I also seen an accessory called the Stabilizer bar you could buy to prevent that from happening. As I have not ordered it yet but soon will. I would highly recommend these forks to anyone wanting to move items with a front end loader."

paynes forks #pf800,
August 11, 2008
By fixstuff

"I finally got the chance to use my forks....they worked great!
I cut some trees in the yard and left them in 6ft length and
used the forks on my ingersoll 6018 tractor to move the logs
I was able to just scoop them up and move and dump, never
had to get off the tractor. when i was done I use the forks to
move the brush pile off the lawn, only took a short time and the
yard was clear, my friend had told my they did not look like much
for the money, but after watching them work he changed his opinion.
They work great for me and are very easy to install and remove.
very glad I bought them.

Add on forks,
August 11, 2008
By DudleyDorite
from North shore of Lake Superior
"Clamp on forks add so much versatility to the front end loader on my compact tractor. Makes it very easy to scoop up piles of brush and to carry large logs, lumber and plywood. They are extremely easy to put on and take off. While the forks themselves are built for a heavy load capacity, care must be taken not to overload and cause distortion to the leading edge of the bucket."
