Sweet and Petite,
August 11, 2008
By DJTim
from Upstate NY
"I do mobile sound systems and for the smaller jobs this unit is fabulous. There is no appreciable electronic noise on the power supplies. Well filtered and rock steady. The unit is very quiet and It can be 30 to 50 feet away and not interfere in what I am doing at all. The price is very reasonable and you will be delighted with the rapid delivery. I highly recommend it."

1000 watt portable generator,
October 19, 2009
By Crashit
from Akron, Ohio
"I purchased this generator to use as a back-up for lights and equipment at traffic crash scenes. I am part of a Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team and we go out anytime requested to investigate fatal crashes. I needed a generator that was portable, but had enough watts to be useful. This generator works out well. I use Amsoil Syn. oil in it and it has worked out great."

Nicely Built,
July 20, 2009
By Nicki
from Montana
""I bought this to take along camping with my family. I never had a problem with it. It was louder than I was anticipating even at about 30 ft. away. I'm not sure if I didn't read the directions good enough but this thing has two different outlets but only one worked at a time. Overall though I expect to use this for years to come. It seems to be a well built product.""

Remote Power,
July 20, 2009
By guedoz
from Maine
"This is a great little generator for portable needs. I bought this as a generator to power lights at a remote camp. It is quiet and fairly portable. Keeping in mind that it is only rated for 900 watts, it will easily manage small power needs. This is not the generator for industrial purposes, but is great for light duty home or camping use where power is not available."

Good For Me,
March 17, 2009
By Elkless
from Albq. N. M.
"I experienced a very cold morning, one day, in my pop up tent camper -- due to a dead battery -- and decided to never let it happen again. Upon a Google search, I found the generator on the Northern site and compared it to others. It compared very favorably, particularly in price, and seemed to be just what I needed.
It was used a couple weeks later and really performed well. It started on the second pull and ran very quietly. As a matter of fact, it ran so quietly that when I had it at the end of a 50' cord, there were times I wondered if it had run out of gas. I also like the fact that it charges the battery while it runs the heater and lights, so when it does run dry, the battery kicks in to keep the camper nice and toasty through the entire night.
I'm quite happy with my investment and look forward to years of valuable service."

good power, great price,
November 17, 2008
By BuilderBill
from lake isabella, california
"A 1000 watts is not going to start heavy equipement, but this little dynamo is great for convenence, and the noise signature is minimal.
When comparing this product to other (Honda) similar 1000 watt generators the price advantage is nearly 1/2 of what the others cost and the performance is very near equal.
One thing to note is keeping the air circulation optimal as the exterior case material used to limit motor noise ,also limits cooling properties.
Camping becomes a whole lot more comfortable when you bring one of these little generators along!!!
Great buy and a good little generator to have when the Utility company is farther than a cord will reach !!!

1000 watt generator,
August 25, 2008
By magnum60
from Jackson, MS
"I bought one of these 1000 watt generators when it was sold under the Powertrain name. The recoil starter broke under warranty and it took 9 weeks to get a replacement sent. Very difficulty to get the outer case off. Now has a second oil leak in the crankcase. Fortunately the motor is a honda knockoff and most of the parts including gaskets interchange. Good power out put but will not run sensitive electronics. Lots of static on a computer or TV. Next time will spend more for a Honda inverter series."

Does the Job,
April 22, 2008
By Anonymous
from Annapolis, MD
"Northern Industrial Generator does exactly what I need. Generates clean power for a long time on one tank of gas with minimal noise - in fact 30 feet away and you barely recognize it being on. Slightly heavy to carry but not unexpected. Still easy to handle. Easy start. Only problem I had was in shipping - the carton was not strong enough to take a drop by the shipper which cracked the plastic case. However - no damage to the unit otherwise and worked perfect - shows it is industrial strength."

"I use this at a cabin in Alaska.....Just works great... Starts great every time we return to the cabin. Runs forever on little gas. Not big enough to run heavy duty tools but keeps lights, etc. going ..on and on! Wish they would make battery start on these and the 2000 watt range also."

Great Gift For Husband,
January 19, 2008
By Poodle
from Friendswood, Texas
"I ordered this geneerator for my husband for Christmas
this year. We had been looking at many different brands of
portable generators, and we felt that a certain brand I will
not mention would be this best buy. When I went to order the
generator I had decided to purchase, I hesitated and did a litle more research. I found the best buy for my dollar (even though a liitle more expensive) was the Northern Industrial Portable. I made the correct decision. My husband has been thrilled. He was really impressed that the new generator from Northern started on the 2nd pull. The quality he tells me is far above the other brands we were looking at. I would recommend Northern as would my husband over any other brand of portable generator.,
