"The pump is working good so far.
Manufacturer recommends plugging it into a GFI outlet, but it would always "pop" it when it shuts off.
I installed a standard 15 amp outlet and haven't had a problem since.

"I highly recommend this product. It does exactly as advertised, efficiently, quietly, and reasonably priced.
While designing a pump and control system to work with my basement dehumidifier, I found this condensate pump on the Northern Tool website and gave it a try. It does in 1 simple, compact and reasonably priced unit what I was spending significant time designing. The parts alone would have exceeded the price of this unit. Once it is setup, it is maintenance free. The water reservoir is only about 2 liters but it pumps the water out in just a few seconds, and amazingly quietly. I like that it has a safety switch to automatically shut off the pump in the event of a failure. And, that the safety switch also provides wire leads (can be seen in the image) that can be used to shut-off the device even though doing so is not essential for everyday use. Using these leads, I connected the safety switch to the bucket full alarm of my dehumidifier. Thus, not only would the pump turn off in the event of a failure but so would the dehumidifier - and the bucket full alarm would give me visual and audio feedback that something needs attention. I also like that it has 2 eyelets to allow it to be screwed directly to the device (dehumidifier in my case). I ran several successful tests of the system and liked it so much that I bought a 2nd condensate pump and installed it at my parents basement as well. The water is pumped thru a flexible tube (not included) that goes up 8', out the basement window, and into a gutter drainage well about 5' away from the window.
My only disappointment is now I don't get to design my own condensate pump system :-( .
