Got the job done in a bind.,
November 18, 2008
By fatrod43
from West Chicago
"My crawl space flooded for the first time to the depth of one foot of water,( crawl space is only two feet deep ) during Hurricane Ike . With no sump pump in place and all stores sold out of sump pumps, I got online to Northern Tool and the Wayne submersible pump was at my door in a day and a half. Hooked up the pump and with in an hour and a half, the crawl space had a few areas of standing water, maybe 1/4" deep. This pump worked flawlessly and drained a 1,200 cubic ft. area in little over an hour. And Northern Tool, thank you, for such FAST DELIVERY!!"

Great Submersible Pump,
July 20, 2009
By GARainman
from Marietta, GA
"Used this pump to empty a 55 gallon drum of rain water through a 50ft hose to my garden. This pump emptied the barrel in just a few minutes leaving only a quarter inch of water. Also the rain water had some sludge from organics off the roof and pumped this debris without any trouble. Great pump for the money.
Word of caution. Do not use the power cord to pull or lower the pump. Use a small diameter nylon rope."

Grain Elevator Tested,
July 13, 2009
By NDFarmer
from Coleharbor, ND
"We had water in our grain elevator boot for the first time this summer after all of the moisture we've received. We've pumped the boot out every few days all summer long. The water that needs to be pumped out is mixed with kernels of grain, dirt, and sludge. This pump has been excellent at handling the job and we've only used a garden hose to connect to it! For the money it's done a fantastic job. I'd recommend it to anyone."

This is the one you want,
March 23, 2009
By Deb13
from Westchester, IL
"This is by far the best value for the money in submersible water pumps. I purchased this as an additional pump to help out my sump pump during times of flash flooding in our area. I quickly found out my dedicated sump pump was a completely inferior product as the Wayne pump handled the job on its own, and then some. At times the pump ran for two days and never overheated. I just purchased a Wayne sump pump to replace my existing pump based on the performance of this submersible pump. This pump is a true workhorse."

WAYNE - 1/2hp Sub. Utility Pump,
March 16, 2009
By AJsPumps
from Central NY
"This pump was the most similar pump sent as a replacement (as per Northern Tool's product protection warranty) to a SIMER brand pump that I was satisfied with performance-wise, but not for its longevity.
The WAYNE pump proved to be even less successful after only two months of intermitent use in a sump well for a 25-yr. old house. This WAYNE pump was prone to losing its suction if the water level dropped near the base of the pump housing. This pump was a measurably less effective than the equivalent hp SIMER pump under identical conditions. The thermal switch did work as specified in the product's description, although now it's turning off well before the water level surrounding the pump has gotten even close to the base of the pump. The original SIMER brand pump was purchased as a back-up to the main pedestle style sump pump installed in the sump well. I am planning to contact Northern Tool about any remaining warrantly protection for this pump.

Utility Pump,
November 17, 2008
By Alvin68
from IN
"Very disappointed. This pump has less flow and pressure than a one-sixth hp utility pump that I currently have as well. I bought the pump with the thought that it would increase the flow of water but it is not the case. Plus the manufacturer states that the pump is not to be used with an extension cord which makes the pumps even more limiting."

Wayne utility pump,
August 12, 2008
By cx600
from Kansas
"Since our home has had periodic problems with backup of rain / sewer water into the house, I needed a powerful pump to help keep the carpeted areas from getting flooded. This pump has shown itself to be more than capable of handling the load. Before this I had used a standard sump pump, but it simply wasn't enough. This one can definitely keep up. I have also found other uses for it since, like emptying swimming pools. When coupled with the right hose and nozzle, it works great for spraying large volumes of water."

User Friendly Pump,
April 14, 2008
By Doug42
from New Hampshire
"This pump is so user friendly, I do not know why I did not by it sooner! You just hook up your garden hose and an extension cord and you are pumping down your basement of pool at 2500gal per hour! No priming, just drop it in, plug it in and go! Its that easy! Great product, highly reccommended for small to average pumping requirements."

Wayne Model #VIP50,
April 14, 2008
By Robert6
from Jefferson, Tx
"I use this economical pump to empty a cistern and pump an arobic septic sysem holding tank almost dry (within 1/4" of bottom). This pump will not clog as did utilty pumps I have used in the past. The cistern usually contains algae which serves as no problem for this pumps output. The 3/4" adapter is handy for use with a standard water hose fitting, but I found when using a 1-1/2" elbow and thinwall pipe for maximum output, to get a good seal you need to use extra teflon tape in order to have the elbow in the vertical position. Other than that, I rated this pump with four stars and would recommend it to a friend."

Wayne Thermoplastic Submersible Utility Pump,
April 14, 2008
By Stubby
from VA
"I bought this pump to empty a "septic holding tank". The tank is about 5 feet deep and I needed about 40' of hose to get the contents where I needed them.
It worked GREAT! Just like they advertize it even sucked up and transported some significant "solids". I could not be more pleased with its performance.
The cost is reasonable for the quality and performance you get.
