Outstanding pump,
January 20, 2008
By kittycat
from Northern Colorado
"I needed a pump to siphon water from an underground irrigation system on an 80 acre hay field. The slope of the land caused the water to drain to the bottom and unless all the water was removed, the system would have frozen and been damaged. I tried a couple of different pumps and after two weeks of experimenting, I finally came upon the Wayne Portable Pump. The pump worked great and within a couple of hours, I had the entire system drained."

Needs a switch,
November 3, 2009
By abqcabinetguy
from Tijeras, NM
"Great pump. I use it to transfer water from rain barrels located around my property at different outbuildings. I did build a plywood base with 2x2 skids underneath to get the pump off the ground and I also jigsawed a handhold to make it easier to pick up and move around. The only real complaint I have is that it has no on/off switch. It would seem to be a no brainer to put an inline switch on the cord. Couldn't raise the price by much and I would have gladly paid the extra for the switch. I will probably put my own in but it would have been nice to have a factory installed job. Other than that I am well pleased with the performance and quality."

Close, but not perfect,
June 1, 2009
By Gardini
from Idaho
"Develops serious pressure with a decent flow rate. Using it to water garden from a reservoir with a 5/8 inch hose, makes short work of the task.
The one knock I would level is it's not tolerant of outdoor conditions, so keep it protected. The motor is vented on the bottom of the case; a perfect entry point for water, bugs, and dirt. This pump would be complete if manufactured to be weather resistant."

Wayne water pump,
November 18, 2008
By lcuniques

"This little pump works great. It is not fast but will do the job. I used it to pump out a stock tank. The only problem is the screen they send with it needs a female thread to go on the right end of a garden hose. I had to make my own screen."

Good, Reliable Pump for Farm & Ranch,
August 11, 2008
By BrettG
from Wickenburg, AZ
"I bought this pump to empty stock tanks, and it does that job very efficiently. It's built like a tank, and will gladly run off of my inverter all day. There is one thing you want to keep in mind, though. If you're planning on using it to suck out tanks, you're going to need a suction-rated hose. It will collapse a standard hose, and it gets worse as it gets warmer outside. I can't fault it for having too powerful a suction, though. We've been very pleased with this pump."

Wayne Portable Pump,
August 11, 2008
By rockybotom

"I recently purchased this pump to water our lawn and garden. I am pulling water from a pond and running two or three high flow sprinklers. The pump is about 100 feet from the pond at two feet elevation. It is able to self prime and run the sprinklers for hours at a time with no problem."

Wayne Portable Pump,
April 21, 2008
By ASquared
from Colorado Springs, CO
"I purchased this pump to use as an irrigation supplement and ended up using it to purge my solar hot water system that uses glycol as a medium. I was able to remove all the air from a solar system that includes over 250 feet of 3/4" copper pipe. The pump performed flawlessly on several occasions as we calibrated and set up this modern up-to-date solar collection system. I would recommend this pump very highly for many diverse uses. It performs equally well pumping out a hot tub or boosting a well irrigation system. Excellent value for the dollar."

Great Little Pump,
January 26, 2008
By ColoradoMountainMan
from Loveland, Colorado
"I like the portabiltiy of the pump and flow rate. I use it primarily to fill my spa from a water tank on my truck about 130 feet away. It takes a while to get the flow going but once it does it works great. Very happy with it. I did notice that rust will develop betweeen uses and will discolor the water initially."

Good Unit...,
January 22, 2008
By Texasdiver
from DFW, TX
"I bought it to drain a pool and other utility chores....
It is portable, works well and easy to use.
Remember to use a suction rated hose if pump is set a few feet or more above the water source or you'll collapse it. This is also true if the output hose is long and develops a siphon like suction.

Excellent Pump,
January 21, 2008
By MattM
from York Springs, PA
"I mostly use this pump to remove the water from my hot tub. It does a fantastic job. I can empty the tub in no time. The pump is very well built out of cast iron and has standard hook-ups for a garden hose. Also, I like that it is not submersible, because I figure now I have less to worry about with the electrical and possibly getting shocked. Furthermore, I believe having this design makes it much more versatile, because I use it in so many activities, such as extra pressure when watering the yard."

Nice pump!,
January 21, 2008
By MJD572
from Granby,CT
"Not the cheapest, but very well made. The only drawback is you do have to prime it, and a suction hose on the intake side will allow it to pump much faster. I use it to change the 550 gallons of water in my hot tub and it works great-so powerful it will collapse the hose if you use a regular garden hose."

"I use to remove excess irrigation when I err with timing. It doesn't pump real fast, but it does what I need. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability, but see no apparent reason why it won't last a long time."
