"this impact should last forever mine is over 25 years old
never been fixed still works fine it's still one solid gun I have bought new lighter one but still use the old IR231 most of the time. I have been in fleet shop so I use it most everyday

"This impact gets abused daily and has never failed. I often forget to oil it. It has lots of power. The only thing I had to replace was the clip that holds the socket on. Easy fix and the clips can be purchased in bulk."

"We use this product in a production enviroment, which is a war zone for tools. We've had basically every 1/2 impact made on the floor and for the price this one is the all around favorite. Others may be quiter, lighter, more powerful, but this one is the best in the all around catagory. Best of all they can be rebuilt when thing go south!"

"This impact works great. It makes short work of any sticky nuts or bolts. Just be careful to spray your fasteners with penetrating oil first because this little thing will break them if you arent careful. Easy to use power adjustment is great and changing directions is a breeze."

"I've had this impact for the last three years. This baby will bust some nuts. Watch the torque settings when you use it because it is very powerful. You can't get a better impact for the money. I have other impacts and I have retired them. This is the one I use!"

Powerful gun, but..

"I have owned several other guns which came up short, but the 231C always came up when friends/mechanics made recommendations on replacements. It has been a good gun for me, performing as advertised but, at 90 psi it will not always remove all lug nuts.
Although I have not encountered any lug nuts it has not removed yet, I have had to crank up my regulator to at least 120 psi quite regularly to remove sticky lug nuts. Not the end of the world, but inconvenient when most air tools recommend a 90 psi setting.
Still, it is a good and powerful gun that should serve most well and I recommend for all average uses. If you need a heavy duty gun, then purchase something a little heavier."
