10x12 Industial PVC tarps

,
January 3, 2013
By 67cht
from Western Washington State
"These tarps (2) shreaded at the folds almost immediately, leaving holes, within three months! They are hung vertical, with only rain & slight wind conditions. They look good when first installed, but are NOT "tough" or "highly resistant to fraying and tearing", as described.
They are expensive and only have a 30 return/warranty.

"If you are looking for a tarp that is heavy duty and will hold up under the most severe conditions, these are the ones to buy. They are expensive but are well worth the money. Have been buying these tarps for over ten years. Very satisfied with their performance."

Tarp for wood

,
February 15, 2010
By Joetool
from Pennsylvania
"This is the tarp I use to cover the wood pile.
I have done experiments with different tarps to see which ones hold up the best.
First, I heard the clear plastic was the best because it lets sun light in on to the wood. This heats up the wood and helps it dry out faster. Wrong!
What happens here in the Northeast is the sun turns the clear plastic into a green house. In the fall when I went to collect my wood I discovered that the wood was cover with very healthy vines that had grown up inside this green house and I had to chop away at the vines to get the logs out of the pile.
Not fun.
The thick gray tarp is better. It blends in a little better with the landscape and allows no sun to penetrate. But it produces a great deal of heat in the summer sun. This keep the wood hot, dry and dark. Nothing grows under there.
For me this tarp last longer then the other tarps and it sits in the sun all day.

A Pleasant Surprise

,
November 16, 2006
By PJCinMichigan
from Upper Peninsula of Michigan
"In the summer of 2006 I purchased two of these tarps to protect firewood stored in log racks. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how thick this material is. The long term durability is yet to be tested, but it seems I should get at least four or five years out of these if they have adequate UV resistance.
The size is accurately stated as the loss due to edge seaming is minimal even though the edges are very strong with well embedded grommets.
In my experience most tarps are at least eight inches shorter than described because of the edge seaming. I have not measured these tarps to the inch but they seem to be full sized!
