"While hauling off the dirt I created by digging a HUGE hole in my backyard for a sump pit (see review on Wayne Stainless Steel Submersible Sump Pump) I bent the axle supplied with the trailer kit I put together a few years back. You know, one of those little red foldable trailers....anyway, it was seriously overloaded so I can't fault the trailer too much. This new axle, although a bit longer, fit under the trailer perfectly and gives it a little bit wider stance, plus. it's a heck of a lot heftier and hauls a lot more payload!! With the new hubs(also from Northern Tool) I'm ready to haul more dirt and gravel so I can finish this job and get my boat back on the trailer and out to the Pacific!!!"

axle beem assembly

"I needed to replace the axle on an older boat trailer. I had to enlarge the holes over the bolt heads for the springs and shim the width because this was slightly different than the original equipment. However the trrailer was from the sixties and now it is working very good and was an easy repalcement. I now have an axle, bearings, etc that I am confident will not fail on my fishing trips."

Good replacement Axle

"Bought this axle to replaced the one on my fold up tailer. The old axle had been worn down by the bearing seals and were throwing grease everwhere. ( I did not know this at first. I thought I had bad seals.) This was an excellent replacement. I only had to redrill the 2 holes where the springs mount. No big deal. It is well machined and is galvanized. The machining of this axle was far better than the original. I also replaced the hubs with super lube hubs from tie down engineering. This combo should last me a long time."

"Excellent replacement axle. Galvanized finish is very nice. Much sturdier than the original axle under my boat trailer"

Tralier Axel

"One reason I use Northern Tool Axles is that there galvanized not painted like most of the others, during shipping the Axel stubs are protected by a long heavy plastic closed end tube that will prevent dings in the machined areas. For me Northern Tool prices are very reasonable,,,that's the second reason I use them."
