"Pretty good trailer if you need a folder. If you don't need a folder, get one of the wire mesh ones with a ramp.
It's a lot of work to put together, with some parts needing some "persuasion."
Package arrived in horrible condition (Not northern's fault). Some non essential parts were missing, but manufacturer replaced those quickly."

Right trailer for the right job.,

"This is a lightweight trailer so heed the weight limitations. It is an excellant value if the size is right for you.
My trailer is just over 10 years old. Because I use the fold-up feature and store it inside, it still looks like new. The trailer probably only has 3000 miles on it in ten years, carrying large and relatively light weight items (signs) on occasion. Never a problem of any kind."

"We use this as the ranch trailer, off road only. We added thick plywood floor and built wood sides to fit into the provided slots(thanks very much). We are very happy with how it serves our needs. We load it up with tools, deer corn, rocks, etc and move it around the ranch with our four wheeler, much better than the small trailers made for ATV's, much larger.
I (female) asssembled it with a small help from my dear hubby, he was working on another project closeby.
Would recommend to friends, family, etc."

"I helped my husband put together this trailer. I was dubious at first, but the instructions were clear, and we were able to put it together in an afternoon. We haven't used the folding option--we fastened on a 4x8 sheet of plywood instead. We used the trailer to help us haul all sorts of stuff when we moved from Florida to Georgia, and it performed very well, even when fully loaded and moving at highway speeds."

"The product arrive on time, well packaged, and complete. This was particularly important as the assembly process revealed that there's a considerable, yet managable amount of hardware needed to put it all together.
The product quality was admirable, particularly given the very competitive pricing. I was also please to learn that a vehicle origination tag identification number was included, as this significantly reduced the registration process that would have been required without it.
My thanks to Northern Tool for providing a high-quality product at a very reasonable price!"

"I have owned my copy of this trailer for 21 years. Despite the approx 1,000# rating, I haul a good 2,000# of firewood in it 10 or 12 times every Fall. Forget the folding feature; install a solid piece of 4x8x3/4 treated plywood with some extra carriage bolts, and the frame will be real solid. Then just store it in a corner of the back yard. It pulls well on the highway, and tracks well in tight spaces. It needs new wheels & tires (about 20 bucks each) every 3 years. I'm the equipment guy for the local Little League, and you should see the eyes light up when they see this trailer coming, piled 6 feet high with a whole season worth of baseball equipment."

"Nice Little Trailer. I mainly bought it due to the price but I have put almost 1000 mile on it with zero problems. It took me about four hours to put it together incuding the deck and sides. I however choose to put it together without the folding feature. It helps to stiffen the chassis up. I have hauled my lawntactor on it and also some furniture to and from Raliegh, NC which is about 600 miles round trip at speeds exceding 70 MPH. The trailer tracks straight and smooth. Great buy, but I would not use it to haul extra heavy loads. Also be sure to get the 4.80X12 tires. Helps the trailer handle highway speeds better."

"As mentioned in most reviews the parts are not numbered.
The cardboard box it was shipped in, or what was left of it arrived late.
Amazingly all the parts were in what used to be a box.
I used 4'x8'x3/4" Exterior Plywood. By it's self the plywood weighs 40 lbs.
IF YOU CAN NOT LIFT 130 LBS. OVER YOUR HEAD. USE TWO PEOPLE to "stand" up INTO AND FROM the folded storage position.
Casters are cheap and small in diameter.
ANY slightly rough surface makes moving it in the folded storage position precarious at best.
Again use two people to move.
The tongue is only 3 sided and twists VERY easily. If you plan to use a trailer jack/wheel, save your money and buy a trailer with a 4 sided tongue.
I had to replace the tongue on mine with 1/8" wall square tube, drill all the holes, etc....
If I did not have the tools to do this myself it could have cost ~$300.00.
On a positive note it tows good even with the 12" wheels which are not included."

"I thought the trailer was well made. Depending on your mechanical ability, the "no labeling" issue on the parts is a non issue. The pieces fit well together and the finish was good to very good in some cases. Some of the ideas I took away from previous reviews worth noting were: make sure to use 3/8 washers with every fastener (I used SS washers on both the head and nut side as to not damage the painted surface) ; use Duplicolor candy apple red for touch up after assembling the pieces to maintain rust protection ; use blue (medium strength) locktite on each of the bolts to reduce loosening up during vibration; use wire looms (3/8") with 1/2 inch loom supports for routing the electrical ; use weather resistant connectors or tape the connectors,provided, to ensure weather tightness.
Overall a great value for a trailer and the ease of folding it back up for winter storage is a huge plus in garages or driveways where space is a premium."

ONLY THING I DID WAS PLACE 2X4 UNDER FRAME AND AXLE TO KEEP IT FROM HITTING.

"An excellent value for a light duty trailer. The trailer kit comes with everything you need to assemble the trailer including well illustrated assembly instructions. The trailer tilts while still attached to the tow vehicle eliminating the need for additional ramps. The trailer folds literally in half and stores in an area little more than two feet from the wall. The quality of the components and the finish are first rate. For the occasional hauling of anything under half a ton nothing compares for quality or price,"

Trailer with no way to roll,

"A trailer sold without wheels? Not very smart.
This trailer frame type bends easily if hit, even lightly. Had a terrible time with the wiring for the tail lights. Wouldn't keep lit or would work sometimes. Had to replace the wiring a couple of times.
Folds easily, but a little hard to roll folded up on any slightly rough surface."

Foldup Utility Trailer,

"This trailer went together with no problems. All the holes lined up and all the hardware was there. It took me about 5 or 6 hours to put together. Like another reviewer, I'm not much of one to re-check the tightness of the nuts/bolts so I used Loctite on all of them. One complaint would be the clips that hold the wiring in place. Time will tell but I wish those clips had a little more "beef" to them or at least secured using more than friction to hold them in place.
I used 4'x8'x3/4" plywood (cut in half) for the decking and I added some eye bolts to the sides of the frame for using tie downs.
Within its design limits this is a great little trailer and it folds nicely into the garage... out of the way and we can still park our 2 cars there with room to spare. This trailer is not designed for heavy duty hauling or say going cross country with a full load but for light hauling of building materials, a scoop of top soil or, say, taking my Kubota lawn tractor (about 750 lbs with mowing deck) to the dealer, this trailer is all that I need. If you're going to be using it for heavier loads or for long distance hauling, then I'd get another trailer which is designed for that sort of thing."

Good Quality but some critical design flaws,

"I did not have any problem with registering the trailer. It was still not properly endorsed but my state wasn't as tough on the registration.
Pros:
Good Value for the quality of trailer. Good paint job.
Cons:
1. Carriage bolt to lock down back half of trailer is difficult to access and tighten, making the trailer fold up for storage a difficult and tedious proposition.
2. Location of hinges and the protrusion of the bolt heads for fold up operation reduced useable trailer bed width to a 1/4 to 1/2 inch short of 4 ft.
3. All parts should have been labeled...only two critical parts are labeled."

Not as great a deal as you think,

"First of all, the most annoying thing. My state's DMV requires a properly executed certificate of origin in order to title and tag the trailer. The certificate comes in the box, however, it is not properly executed with Northern Tool's stamp on the front and back. Soooooo, I was not able to get tags for the trailer before spending money to fedex the certificate back to Northern Tool and waiting to get it back. So the $50 bucks I saved over the competition was pretty much lost. If you are in a hurry to get this on the road, you may want to consider something else. I believe there was another post above me that had the same problem."

Good stuff cheep,

"I have had this for several years, it is a real work horse, and it was cheep. I used old lumber to make the sides, and keep the bearings greased. it just keeps rolling. I have had it maxed out many times with old furniture and no problem. Always get the larger wheels, they help with pot holes. Plan at least half a day to assemble, you need a large flat area like a driveway. Airtools are a plus."

"I purchased this trailer, honestly thinking that it would be a piece of junk. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all parts were of good quality, all the parts were there, and all of the holes lined up! The only bad part was that there was no labeling on the parts to determine front from rear from side parts. The manual had good drawings though and with a little bit of patience, you can determine what is what. I love the folding AND tilting features. I would highly recommend this trailer."

Super Versitile Tool,

"I own this item and, though it may appear small, it has proven to be both rugged and dependable. I installed a 1/2 inch piece of plywood and inexpensive treated wood rails, making the trailer a versitile unit, aIlowing me to haul lumber, mulch, and items too large to place in my pick-up truck bed. This trailer has become an indispensible addition to my project related tool collection."
