"It took me a little over an hour to assemble the cart and then attach the top rail accessory to expand its capacity. The cart is very well made with solid welds and a heavy duty frame. Additionally, the wheels are high quality and overall I am very satisfied with my purchase. I bought the #8261 (1200HD) even though the larger size was only $43 more. However, this model will track directly behind my ATV. The larger model is wider and would ride outside my ATV width. I don't want to worry about this as I travel down a trail or maneuver through the woods. I know that if my ATV clears, then my trailer will clear. Finally, with the tandem axle I can simply use just two wheels instead of the tandem assembly if I want more maneuverability; especially on a lawn where I don't want to tear it up (the tandem assembly will slide/drag more on tighter turns). The tandem wheels are directly in-line with the main attachment spindle, so that is why you can use the tandem assembly or just slide a wheel over the spindle to use two wheels instead of four. I didn't realize this when I first made my purchase, but it was a welcome surprise. When I have a heavier load or if I want to use it on uneven terrain, I can simply place the tandem assembly back in place."

polar trailer, tandem axle

"This trailer, so far has taken all of its jobs in stride. I have worked it very hard and it still remains intact. It was easy to assemble and I am very pleased with the fit and finish. I would recommend this trailer to everyone. The tandem axle works great when i am in the woods on uneven terrain giving it more stability than a single axle cart has."

ATV trailer

"What a great trailer. Assembly was easy. Actually did it after sun set in dark. Use it to haul dry washer and other equipment around gold prospecting in desert. Haul sands and rock. Seems much beefier than comparable trailers at higher cost. The reason I gave it a 4 star rather than 5 is the grease fittings are pretty substandard and hard to use. I ended up taking things apart and hand packing bearings in wheels and pivot axel on tandem axel pivot. Otherwise, I'm happy."

Quality Control?

"My impression after using this trailer to haul a few cords of wood is that the trailer is definately up to the task. It pulls and backs easily and has a payload adequate to my needs. I will probably opt to purchase the side rails for increased payload. Quality of the finish and materials is good however four of the six zirc fittings were loose which made a mess of the initial grease job. Of course while tightening them, one broke off. Another good use for duct tape. A couple of the zircs were of the type that required constant pressure on the fitting while the grease was being pumped which in my case required a third hand. Overall though I'm quite pleased with the trailer."

tough trailer

"I bought this trailer for yard work around the house and, for gathering firewood. It is pulled by a Suzuki 700 Quad. This trailer performs well on uneven terrain, through the woods on and off road. I live in upstate NY where it is rural. The tandem axle works like a champ. It goes over logs, stumps and rocks with no issues. It was very easy to assemble. It took me by myself less than 90 minutes. The only thing I don' like about it is the plastic body is not nearly as sturdy as I expected. I put a log in that was maybe a foot longer than the trailer sticking out of the back, and I had to cut it again do to the fact that I thought the weight of the log with the rough ride back home would tear, rip, or break the body of the trailer. As far as dirt, Item4, rocks, sticks, cut grass, mulch, fill it right up to the top. This trailer will handle all you can throw at it. I will buy the steel rails that are an accessory with this trailer. This trailer will last a long time and I would highly recommend this to someone with a small farm or lots of yard work do do. I do not think this would be good for commercial applications."

Excellent trailer, excellent price.

"In searching for a trailer for my ATV, I researched extensively. First, to see what was out there and second, to see what people thought of them. After having had my trailer for several months now, I figured I would write this to help the rest of you out there save some time in making an informed decision. For reference, I generally use the trailer on weekends only and not for continuous professional use. That being said, I have repeatedly loaded the trailer to capacity and hauled it over rugged terrain and on steep pitches and traverses.
I compared about ten different trailers, ranging in price from about $300 to $1800. Obviously there was a range in size along with the range in price, so I thought hard about exactly what I intended to do with the trailer. I generally use the trailer to haul around wood and stone on a tract of land that is hilly and densely wooded. So, for me, strength was primary and being the "right size" was a close second. The right size for me was in the middle of the range - big enough to make my trips worthwhile but maneuverable enough to get around through the trees. Capacity for me would be determined by weight and not volume. (Had volume been my primary goal - i.e. hauling hay or supplies - I likely would have gone for the Polar 1500 which is quite a bit wider and has a box that extends over the tires.)
The best manufacturers tend to mention the weight of steel used in construction of their products when they have something to be proud of. This is the case with Polar and I was not disappointed when I unpacked the box. This trailer, as told by the manufacturer, is very well-built. Heavy gauge steel is used throughout the frame with full-seam welds and large bolts at assembly points. The box is a durable plastic, which admitted seems thin (as I had read in other reviews). But I have yet to cause it any harm after heaving in many tons of wood and stone.
As for the tandem vs. single option - I can only speak for the tandem (of course) but can easily tell that it does an excellent job of taking loads over rough terrain and the extra pair of tires helps to keep the trailer from sinking in the soft stuff. The downside of any tandem trailer is that tight cornering is tough - as two wheels must skid - which can be hard on whatever ground you are on. I just try not to make tight turns when I am on the lawn...
Last but not least, the price. This trailer fell in the lower middle of the range for prices but, as far as I have been able to research, is in the high end of the range for quality, so I feel that it is an exceptional deal. I could have spent more but doubt I could have been any more satisfied. I should also note that I installed a 1-7/8" ball coupler instead of using the tab and pin connection as I felt it would perform better.
I highly recommend this trailer.

"This product was easy to put together and it works. I know that it indicates that it will only hold 1200 lbs; however, when we planted our food plots this year, we put 1500 lbs and it work great. This is an awesome product!"
