Excellent Quality Differential, October 19, 2009
By KineticRacer from Santa Cruz, CA

"I was immediately impressed when I opened the box to see this differential. It is beefy and well made. The quality is beyond what I expected. This was made by someone that is very precise and takes pride in their workmanship.
I'm using this in a human-powered all-terrain vehicle and it works for my needs very well. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a good differential.

sturdy, July 10, 2009
By tatt from cleveland, ohio

"i've used this axle on a trike with a 16hp briggs (though it's only rated for 10hp) - trike weighs roughly 600lbs plus two adult riders (another 350lbs.) - as a little upgrade i purchased two sprockets - one to use as a sprocket and the other i cut the teeth off (in a lathe) to use as a rotor - had to get longer bolts to accomidate the second sprocket - the gear housing held up fine - would recommend at least 4 bearings - 2 as close to the gear housing as possible (to keep the axle centered) and 2 as close to the hubs as possible (for support) - overall this is the best axle i've ever used - little side note for those with machining abilities - the diff can be easily disassembled to machine keyways the full length of the axle - also longer axles can be made - the diff gears are not splined so you can mill some flats on 1" round stock and cut the axles as long as you want..................... hope this helps"

Great Axle, August 18, 2008
By Mryo1988 from Inver Grove Heights, MN

"This is a great axle for products other than go karts. I used it to build a 2nd drag racing lawn tractor. I mounted the mini bike drum/sprocket on the housing (with a little machining). Works great, both wheels hook up and you can turn sharp no problem. but for baking purposes the key ways should be longer."

3STAR, March 23, 2008
By GENDOC00 from northern IL.

"I used this axle on a homemade kart screamer, I have a 8 H.P. briggs up front ,and on hard runs we will break the through bolts ,"one at a time" .I have found good luck with grade 8 machine bolts. the thread is long enough , and the allen head is good for tight tolerances...I do wish more sprocket selections were possible , and the atv live axle hub is a good fit for this axle, buy lots of them."

Made turning alot easier., November 18, 2006
By HotRod from Agoura Hills, CA

"After building a "Go Kart Kit", for my 5 year old son, I found that he was having trouble making tight turns on pavement with the live axle. I purchased the differential to make things easier for him and it did. The unit works great! However, to make the kart stop evenly I had to install two disc brakes (one for each side). This meant having to extend the key slots inward to position the disc where I needed them to be. Overall, I am very happy with the the diff and would suggest making the key slots run the whole length of the axle to give the user more flexiblity for installation."
