"Ordered this spreader because of its favorable rating and I was not disappointed. Delivery was reasonably quick. Directions were easy to follow (watch the orientation of the axel). I used the spreader this weekend and it works as advertised. I won't give it five stars at this time because I need to see how it holds up with use. I was a bit disappointed with the directions for setting the dispensing rate because the discription is based on the media size and product per square foot (which works obviously), but similar products I have seen compare their settings to those found on Scott's products. I'll update this rating after I've made it through the season."

"out of the box the unit looked well designed and had an excellent defuser to alter the seed distribution, giving control over the pattern. The issue is the plastic differential. After only 1.5 Hrs of use the rotating distribution plate stopped turning. On opening up the case we found the aluminum gear teeth torn up. it appears that the seat for the driven shaft end heated enough to melt the cup that held the pinion in contact with the ring gear. It was well lubricated at the factory and I can see no reason for the failure. none of the bearings were worn or seized. BUT the factory claims that this 70 year old who has been seeding acres for most of my life broke an undocumented 3MPH speed limit and refuses to honor the claim. Think about it, in 50 years I've had 3 seeders go because they got old and rusty, never the driving mechanism."

"This spreader works very well! It is my second tow behind spreader and send the seed out much further than expected. Saves time and fuel.
I had to call the manufacturer to be sure I was reading the assembly instructions correctly on the assembly of the pull bar. They were Extremely Helpful."

"For years, I've searched for a towable spreader that consistently dispenses low volume products like fire ant killer and pre-emergence herbicide. Until the Spyker, I was always disappointed by spotty application caused by balky, inprecise controls or inadequate agitation. The Spyker dispenses low volume precisely and does well with higher volume fertilizer as well. Well worth the price."
