"THIS PRODUCT WORKS JUST AS DESCRIBED.. WE USE THIS ON ONE OF OUR TRAILERS WITH A REINFORCED GATE THAT IS VERY HEAVY, AND IT TAKES 100% OF THE WEIGHT, YOU CAN LIFT THE GATE WITH 2 FINGERS..... WELL WORTH THE $$$$$........ AND MUCH CHEAPER THAN BACK SURGERY"

Great for the back,

"I installed this product on my landscape trailer two years ago and it took me about 1 1/2 hours. Easy to read directions and no special tools to install, most time spent was to make sure I was measuring correctly. This product has virtually saved my back. I have the large one piece gate and can lift it off the ground with my foot. There is a slight bit of binding when you put the gate up and down, but no more than before I installed the lift. For the price, this is just a great investment no matter how good a shape you're in."

"i purchased this product about two years ago from northern tool.i own a lawn care business and the tail gate on my trailer is very heavy.by the end of the day i was wore out from just lifting the gate up and down.installed the lift assist,and that gate is like lifting nothing. no weight to it at all. i highly recommend this product."

"I recently purchased a utility trailer with a 5 foot mesh tail gate which is so heavy that it was very hard to open and close. I saw an ad for the Gorilla-Lift Tailgate Lift Assist. After installing one on my trailer, which is easy, I can operate the gate with one hand. Much more safe and easy to use the gate now. It works just as the ad said it would.

"it was very easy to install. but the drilling was hard, but work's really well take's the weight off the tailgate makes it light that you can lift it with your finger. the only thing that i see is that the cable rubs the latch on the end of the trailer had the bent the latch to stop it from rubbing some cover came off the cable."

"This product is well worth the money. Installation is very simple and should be able to be handled by a novice with a drill and some end wrenches. The assist just flat out works well. I can't see anything on it that won't last the life of the trailer that I put it on. A person could build something similiar but if your time is worth anything this is the way to go."

"I bought a landscape trailer and increased the strength of the ramp for my tractor. That of course increased the weight of the ramp . I purchased the gorilla lift and have told numerous people it was some of the best money I have ever spent. The ramp , close to 200 lbs , can be lifted with one hand . Great for us old guys that enjoy our toys and the outdoors ."

"I would recomend the Gorilla lift to any one that has a heavey tail gate. Mine is very heavey and since I installed the Gorilla lift it is great ,no effort what so ever I can lift it with my foot . IT IS RELLY GREAT. Buy it you will like it."

"This item does exactly what it is advertised to do. Every time I put my toe under the tailgate of my trailer and give it a little lift, it comes right up with no extra effort by me. I used to cringe when I bent down to lift it before I installed the Gorilla LIft for fear of hurting my injury-prone lower back. Now I just smile!"

Let a Gorilla do your lifting,

"Bought the gorilla lift and installed today. Put it on a 14' lowboy utility trailer. My tailgate is constructed of 2x2 angle iron with 2x2 square tube at the hinge end with expanded steel. Ramp is 50" long by 6' wide. It is HEAVY. Took one day working by myself to install.It took me some extra time due to having to remove some welded hooks for tie downs, grind flat and then cold galvanize the exposed metal. Instructions are very good. Everything fit and I can now raise my tailgate with my toe. If your rails are clear and all you have to do is drill and bolt, it shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours. This is an excellent product. I am going to buy one for my larger trailer with split ramps. I will NOT have another trailer without one."

Gorilla Lift not for every one.,

"I have a 6' x 12' open utility trailer with 22" high sides. The tail gate isn't 150 lbs, but it is more weight than I need to be lifting because of my pacemaker. The Gorilla Lift looked like the best of such devices available, and it is to a certain degree. For it to work as described, your trailer should be EXACTLY like the one in their video. High sides impedes operation. There was so much tension on my tailgate that it would not open, even when the small spring was disengaged.
I can make the lift work, but it requires purchasing various springs until I find one that allows smooth operation. For the added expense and aggravation, I could have made my own lift which I'm having to do any way.
The unit is well made and all parts were supplied. Instruction were fairly good, but support form Gorilla Lift is poor. Still, I'd build one myself next time."

"Ever buy a product hoping it will work. Well this one does. In fact it works great! Lifting a trailer gate six to eight times a day can take it's toll on your back when your working alone.
There were times when I just avoided using the trailer beacuse I didn't want to deal with lifting the gate.
Life just became alittle easier. The instructions are easy to follow and all the hardware needed came with the purchase.
For once your buying a product that really works at a great price !"

"We're in the middle of mounting this thing on our big landscape trailer - which is not quite what they designed the product for, and we're having to do a bunch of modifications. That said, even if it doesn't work totally right, it will be a Godsend to us: big heavy trailer ramp. We hate to have to lower or lift it. This big ole' spring in a tube is going to really help."

"The best idea since the invention of shoe laces. Chronic low back and shoulder problems limited the use of my trailor because of the weight of the tail gate. The weight and the awkward balance point of the tail gate became too much for me to raise/lower. I was about to sell the trailer. Since installing the Gorilla-lift tail gate assist, I can, and do, use my trailer for all of the reasons that it was purchased. I am no longer considering sellling this valuable "tool". Thank you for having the foresight to offer this valuable add-on.

Could be tostrong for smaller trailers,

"Very good Idea but for my 8X10 open trailer I had to reduce to one spring other wise the ramp worked like a mouse trap. Installation was fairly easy and with a little time spent to find the correct pivot point for the spring this will work just like sliced butter. after a serious back injury this lift has made it so I can use my trailer again, and even even my wive loves it I would only say take your time, and if you are a beginner think it through and do a dry fit using "C" clamps first then after all adjustments are done Mount it permanently. and now for the disclaimer "As usual, no warranty, including fitness for a particular purpose or usefulness of information, express or implied. YMMV. NFI. All instructions apply to XP Pro

"As I have grown older, I have looked for ways to assist me in lifting things. Trailer gates (and especially mine) are heavy and can result in back and other lifting injuries. It was easy to install and use has been a "dream". I feel like a kid again showing off my new "muscle power"."
