The Farm Jack 7000#,November 17, 2008
By NNRhomerepairfrom Vacaville, CA
"This thing is heavy duty, reliable, and virtually indestructible. I've used it to pull up 4x4 fence posts, jack my 10,000# trailer at the tongue, and stretch fence. I'd recommend it to anybody who has run out of ideas about how to lift stuff. It does the job. I've noticed it is also "required equipment" on the back of all Jeep Wrangler 4x4s--if I got stuck, this is the tool I'd use to get "Un-Stuck." I live better day-to-day, knowing I've got this jack to get me out of tight and heavy jams. As a contractor, I also appreciate the fact that it does the heavy work and my back doesn't have to! Get one!"

Torin Farm Jack,October 19, 2009
By 928Porschefrom Sistersville, WV
"Wow! I have been amazed at what I've been able to do with this jack. I'm restoring an old warehouse and the jacks (bought 2 of them) have been invaluable in holding and bracing various parts of the building. You can get these into places where something big like a fork lift can't fit."

Great Heavy Duty Jack,October 19, 2009
By cwajciecfrom Virginia
"I bought this jack to get me out of tough spots with my Jeep, but have found other lifting uses for it as well. You can pull a lot of weight with it and even clamp long items for working with them. This jack with the climbing pin design should last a long time, and it looks easy to repair if you need to. Highly recommended, even over the Hi-Lift jacks for much more money."

best tool to own,March 23, 2009
By Mcgiverfrom Middlebourne WV oilfield, farmer, sawmill owner
"This is a must for every handyman, builder, welder, farmer, or any one that needs an extra hand. I have worked in the oil field for 25 years and this jack has gotten me out of mud holes that any other jack would have been useless for. I have used it and a chain to bend 2" pipe to fit a job or to push or pull a pumpjack into place. I have used it to pull fence posts on the farm or lift my tractor where I would have had to carry a lot of cement blocks to make a normal hydraulic jack to work. This is a very rugged built jack and very dependable, all the maintinence that it requires is a little oil in the right spots and it will do everything that you want it to do."

Leveling my Shed,November 18, 2008
By Art435from Pittsburgh, PA
"I have a 10'x12' backyard garden shed that was not leveled when it was built. After contacting numerous contractors and building experts who wanted to charge outrageous fees, or did not want to take on the task of leveling the shed, I decided to try it on my own. I knew I had to jack up the one side but did not know what equipment I would need. I went on line and discovered the Northern Tool and Equipment had these farm jacks that would seem to work. I purchased two of them and my son-in-law and I proceeded to use them to jack the shed back to level. The jacks worked perfectly, made the job easy, and saved hundreds of dollars and I still have them for future projects. I'm glad I found this company and will use them again for any tools or equipment that I might need."

farm jack,November 18, 2008
By smithgun2008from Georgia
"Very easy to use and has many uses. Must be careful not to get out of plumb as it can slip to the side. Worked junk cars to remove converters and tires, just slide up into tire well edge and lift away. Never get under anything with this jack only!! IT CAN AND WILL SLIP TO THE SIDE IF OFF PLUMB. Always use jack stands for safety."

Farm Jack,November 17, 2008
By wkrpidahofrom Kooskia, ID
"I have always had a hanydyman/farmhand jack. This one was added to my new truck and has already stretched out a fence line of barb wire and lifted an item or two. There are many jacks for specific jobs, and this one is no different. Secondly, it is about $30-40 cheaper through Northern Tool than at my local supply store. I live in a very rural area and town is 160 miles round trip so town is not a daily excursion. It is good to know that the jack met and exceeded my expectations and has done the job required as has all the other products I have purchased from Northern Tool. This is a great value and farm jack. Kevin"

Tractor Jack,November 17, 2008
By Geezerfrom Extreme Southwest Georgia
"Having a flat tire on my tractor convinced me to spend the bucks and get a decent jack so I could levitate that old piece of iron when I needed to.
Since I've had it I've learned that it is really helpful for pulling fence posts out of the ground and I've even used it to convince some privet hedge bushes that they oughta come up out of the dirt too. I think that with a little help from another pair of hands I could use the jack to stretch fence wire as tight as a banjo string.
When I first opened the box I found that one of the 6mm X 50mm roll pins that are part of the up/down selector was bent but that wasn't any trouble to swap out. I replaced both of the pins with stainless steel coil pins so they ought to be there till I've gone to that great tractor barn in the sky."

great tool,June 20, 2008
By jpretiredfrom retired 63 y/o Texas
"I have owned this jack for a year. Have used it to raise two wood storage buildings and reblock after a flood floated them off their blocks. The larger building is a12X16 barn type building. Did both by myself thanks to this inexpensive jack. Great for removing fence post. Great as a come along. Bought it on sale at Northern and glad I own it."

Farm Jack lift beam,April 14, 2008
By gpaj5from Northern NJ
"I used two jacks to lift a 16 foot reinforced wood beam from floor to an 8 foot ceiling, by myself, with the aid of two adjustable columns. Jacks were easy to operate in "normal" condition, but took some effort upside-down. I eventually tied the jacks to the beam to prevent them from falling when operated in the "lowering" mode. The reversing lever is too short and I had to use an extention lever to operate it, especially when switching from "raise" to "lower". The roll pin in one jack broke on first use and I replaced with large nail. I am still waiting for replacement from Northern. Overall I was very pleased with these jacks and would recommend them. The stand and lifting areas are substantial and they can also be used as very large clamps."

Total Trash,March 31, 2008
By Bob1z5from St. Louis, Mo
"This jack is trash. It's a toy. Don't bother. The one I bought broke the first time I used it - withing tolerance limitations. It's a sham - looks like a jack, but that's it."

"I have used this jack for years to remove fence posts, jack up vehicles, trailers, and sheds, and even to winch a jeep sideways away from a tree! I liked it so much a bought a second one!!! There's no need to spend twice as much on the name brand version of these when this one does the same job for half the price. Just be sure to lube up the moving parts and you'll get years of trouble free use,"
