Good for Hobby/Light duty,
March 16, 2009

"This blaster is good for the hobbyist or for light duty jobs. It does, however require quite a bit of air to work effectively (like most blasters), so you can't use it with an air compressor that doesn't move a lot of air. I tried it with a 60 gallon compressor that moves 10 cfm at 90psi, and it didn't really work at all. it wasn't until I hooked it up to an 80 gallon which moves 24 cfm at 90psi that it did what it is supposed to do. Definitely keep that in mind. Also, it has a bunch of cheap plastic parts which break easily, so don't expect to be able to muscle it around. Not bad for the money, I guess, but if you have more to spend and plan to do a lot of blasting...I'd go for something more substantial."

Overall Good,

"Purchased this several weeks ago and finally had time to use. I had no problems with assembling the unit; all parts were in working order and all pieces intact and operational. I used 160# of construction fine sand and ran unit about 3-4 hrs. steady. During this time I only had one sand plug, this I feel is the little regulator isn’t big enough and will have bigger unit for next time. The nozzles held up right until the last few minutes, these were the ones with unit, I only used one nozzle. I did purchase another set just incase. Overall I give this unit for the money a good rating.
I’m making a camp from a pontoon boat; the top side aluminum needed blasting and pontoons need re-painting. This blaster should do the job………….."

"I tried all the other types of blasters and this one does the job . remember the old white spoke wheels that would rust after a few years and needed repainting that stuff is hard to get off but this little critter does it with ease great little tool just make sure you have compressor enough to keep up with it"

Works For Me,
January 21, 2008
"Got this for Christmas. Perfect size for a hobbyist or a car restorer. I had to do some retrofitting to get the handle to fit like I wanted but thats probably just me. Anyway, once I got the hang of air/media flow rates, this thing worked great. I had a scrap fender I was working with and wow did it ever get clean with this equipment."

OK, but with problems,

"#1- don't even think about leaving the store without buying the pink tips, and get the assorted package because you won't know which size will work without experimenting.
#2- the tank is well made, but the fittings are horendous- I have replaced all air fittings and valves just getting the thing up and running. Everytime I had to take one off to unclog, it would literally break. And the regulator fell apart as I cranked on it. I had most of these parts laying around, but if you had to buy it, it would add another $50 or so for good parts. Also, the saftey valve kept popping at too low a pressure, and would then clog open, so I took it off and plugged it.
#3- the bottom valve will need to be replaced with a larger one, (3/8"), the supplied one will clog constantly.
After you do all that, you may be able to get it working long enough to clean a few parts before it clogs, but part of that is the design of this style. On the plus side, it does work OK when you get the abrasive to air ratio correct, and jsut keep blasting- don't start and stop without shutting of the abrasive flow. It will also work on much less air flow than a suction type unit. My compressor is 15 amp, 5-6 cfm at 80 PSI, and it basically does work.
Considering the cost of professional equipment, this may not be a bad deal, but if I had to do it over, I would maybe look into getting it done at a shop rather than all the time I've spent getting it up and running, and keeping it running."

Good for smaller jobs,

"This blaster is getting the job done. It would be excellent for smaller parts and smaller jobs. I had a large tank to clean and this blaster is just a little too small for the job. It's getting there, but doesn't fit my application"

Abrasive blaster,
October 19, 2007
"I tried to give this thing the benefit of the doubt, but it is truly a piece of junk! First, there were a few broken bits from shipping, no big deal. I filled it up with abrasive and started blasting and the spray pattern got weird about 30 seconds later. I stopped and noticed there wasn't a tip. I figured that I broke it out and installed another. Same thing happened. I installed another tip and watched it closely. The abrasives wore it away so fast I couldn't believe it. The tips are like chalk. I made my own tip from a hunk of brass I had laying around and it worked fine for about an hour. Then the metering valve on the bottom of the tank broke. Replaced it with a real one from the hardware store. This thing has wasted more time and money than it would have taken to get my parts professionally blasted. Steer clear."

Poor Blaster,
October 15, 2007
By doclaw from Mississippi
"1) To start with parts needed to assemble were missing.
2) The weld for the brackets were so bad out of alignment that I had to take the pressure gage off and place it on the other side in order to make the brackets and handles alien in order to put the bolt into the holes to hold them together.
3) There was more time spent unclogging than blasting.
4) The pressure regulator adjustment came apart and that was the end.
5) This product was returned!"
