"I recently bought this with a 13HP 4000/3.5 gpm for my kids to try and make some money around the neighborhood. I bought this particular deck washer for two reasons;
1) It has a GREASABLE bearing. Critical for the life of the product. One trip to have someone replace the bearing and well, you get the idea. Buy an inexpensive grease gun when you pick this one up along with replacement cartridges...will last you years. My humble opinion is that bearings that can't be greased will eventually freeze up and probably when you can afford it the least (read: middle of a job). It's that critical
2) Lightweight. Remember, kids are using it and they have been able to do just fine. Imagine how easy it will be for an adult. Although the housing is ABS plastic, it's durable enough if you aren't an outright idiot and drive it over curbs, kick it, or abuse it in any way. Makes it easy for kids to get in and out of a pickup truck. It won't corrode or blister. Does a great job. We crank the PSI way, way down for driveways and sidewalks (Buy a $20 gauge while you are at it). Usually 2,200 PSI and probably pushing 3gpm.....no more etching/pitting of the customers cement and sidewalks.
This thing floats along, is easy to clean, lightweight.....all in all a good value. If I could get the exact one, 24" or greater with wheels, I will buy it. The ones they have that are stainless do not indicate whether they can be greased or not. This is the number one failure for ALL deck washers. That and broken arms by people running over curbs or clogged jets.
If you are going to do this for anything other than personal use, GET a deck washer or beat yourself into oblivion with out one.....prevents you from ripping up sod with wands as you edge.....this tool is a must for those that are making money in this business......
The only question remains is one about wheels. Me? I think now I would rather have them for transitioning ease with each "row". Buy this and you won't regret it if you follow my advice above. Spend the extra $100. It's worth it."
