A great time saver,July 22, 2009
By dingosurffrom Red Bank, NJ
"I've only just tried this surface cleaner one time, but it is obvious that it makes the job much easier and quicker. My patio is made of blocks, so it is not the easiest surface to clean but this surface cleaner does a good job. I still found that I had to use the wand to move the dirt off after cleaning, for some tough spots and weeds between the cracks. I will probably get another gun so I only have to use the quick connects to switch between the wand and this surface cleaner. The shrouding helps keep the mud from kicking up all over the garden and into the pool.
I did not have a problem with this being too high when attached to my gun as some other reviewers have stated. I would actually prefer it to be two inches higher - I am 6'5" though.
I think the plastic body should be a little more robust, but I guess it keeps it lighter."

Best piece of equipment,June 3, 2009

"I was a little skeptical at first, so I took a gamble based on reviews. This was the best purchase I have made for making money. I have a Dewalt 3750psi-4gpm cold water, and it has saved me both time and agony. My customers also are impressed. Take it slow and steady and it will remove years of accumulated algae growth on concrete. Pretreating the surface always helps. I use this machine daily on small and large jobs. My income has increased 40%. Paid for itself on 1 job. Seems to work best at maximum pressure...definitely worth the $$$."

Surface cleaner,February 21, 2009

"I purchased this unit to clean my driveway and sidewalks. It is a time saver IF you take your time. I hooked it to a 2,700 lb. unit and it cleaned faster than a turbo-nozzle. It will leave behind streaks if you move too fast. Move slow and steady and there is no need to go over the same area twice."

"When I bought this product I had already tore a cheaper one up! I had been cleaning everything with just a wand and as you probably already know, wands will leave streaks. This product, if not used with some patience, will leave some swirl marks however; if you are like me, you will take your time and will be satisfied with the results. More important still your customer will be and, so far I have always received a little more than I've asked for. The one draw back I have found with this cleaner is that the outer ring will clog up with dirt and grease. You will have to keep it clean. Also when cleaning wood fences it clogs with wood particles but this can be offset by reducing your pressure. The tips are excellent, and the connecting points are still like new even after 3 years of use. (No Leaks) More than 2800 psi will send it sailing so be careful! I usually hold it down at 3000. Over all I am very satisfied with this product's performance. If it was allowed by Northern Tool, I'd leave a link here where you could actually see me using this product . So, just let me tell you as a professional power washer. It'll work!"

Unsatisfactory,May 24, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Philadelphia
"I wonder if I simply ended up with a defective unit? Within the first ten minutes of usage, mine stopped spinning, because one of the two nozzles no longer operated. What that meant was that all the water pressure (I was using a 2,350 PSI washer) came through one nozzle and I ended up with ugly gashes in my deck until I figured out what had happened and turned everything off. Following the instructions, I removed and cleaned both nozzles (that's a bit of a chore, by the way) although I did not see any obvious blockages. I also switched to a new pressure washer (rated at 2,000 PSI). Within a few minutes the same thing happened. I cleaned them again, only to have the same thing occur. I will say that Northern Tool was very good about things when I returned the unit. FWIW, I have used other surface cleaners with my pressure washer without any problems."

11.5in Surface Cleaner,April 22, 2008
By Under1Pressurefrom Houston,Texas
"I was not impressed wtih this product. I used a 2550psi machine at 2.3 gpm at my first and only attempt to use this product. After one pass I went over the same area with a turbo nozzle for test purposes. The turbo nozzle showed just what the surface cleaner didn't clean. I'm considering moving to a 3800psi machine w/ 4gpm but still having difficulty matching a good surface cleaner to the new purchase."

Great Product,October 29, 2007
By gaiseefrom Houston, TX
"I bought this product last week...it worked very well with my 2500 PSI pressure washer, and at 2.2 gpm, it got the job done farily quickly. It was very simple to use, and it worked very efficiently. If my pressure washer was up to par, and was in great working condition, I'm sure the job would have been even better. I truly think this is an amazing product, and I cannot wait to buy a bigger one, with a bigger machine of course."

Does More Than You'd Think,July 10, 2007
By AlFromMOfrom St Louis, MO
"Pros: Works great on concrete, much faster and more even than using a single tip. Makes a good "broom" by tilting it up (creates a breeze and blows leaves and other trash). Cleans wooden decks, but you have to be careful to keep it moving on ceder. The weight is OK for horizontal use (keeps it down pretty well). Can use it for cleaning vertical siding (a bit heavy, but the castors come off easily, making it less bulky for this use). There is a brush-like skirt to keep some of the water from getting out, but you will get wet. Works great on vinyl fencing too.
Cons: Tends to rotate on end of the wand. Uses a fair amount of water (seems to keep my 8hp washer extra busy). A little too heavy for extended vertical use even with the wheels removed.
Overall: For occasional use it is very good for lots of jobs. Reasonable price."

Worth it's weight in gold!,February 8, 2007

"For the money, you can't beat this little guy. There are better units, but this one works if you aren't cleaning driveways for a living.
On most surfaces, you can pretty much walk at a normal pace and it cleans efficiently....SO MUCH FASTER than you could ever do with a wand.
I have encountered a couple problems, though. 1>the pipe dope used can break apart and clog the nozzles. 2>does not work great on uneven surfaces, because the spray shield catches."
