Great Scaler,
August 24, 2009

"Our welders use this scaler daily in our shop. It makes fast work of cleaning dirt, rust, and paint prior to welding, and for cleaning slag afterwards. This tool is a workhorse. Shipment was quick. Later, when replacement needles were needed, "Fay" looked up our original order, tracked down the correct replacement part number and processed the order quickly. Excellent customer service! Great Products! Great Prices!
...and, who else has a "hard bound" catalog?
:-)

Wore Out,
November 17, 2008
By MadRemodeler

"Purchased to chip old parging and mortar from a field stone foundation. It did a wonderful job and was much less messy than sandblasting or pressure washing. After about 40 hours the main spring broke which was cheerfully replaced by Northern Tool. After about another 20 hours the needles started to fall out. They and the platen basically wore out. I had to buy a second one to complete the job. Perhaps the abrasive mortar particulate contributed to the accelerated wear. This tool is okay for small jobs but would buy a better quality scaler for bigger jobs."

"Equivalent quality with Grainger's product.
Of course, cheaper price.
I haven't been able to see the durability of this product, but initial impression is good."
