The Answer To High Heating Bills,
March 6, 2007
By Gfalki from Verona, KY
"I installed my Drolet Wood Burning Stove in my double wide mobile home on March 4, 2007. That night I started a small fire to cure the paint like instructed to do in the manual. I shut down my home furnace that morning and will not turn it on again. The next day I started a fire in the stove and wanted to see what it would do. That night the outside temerature was 18 degrees and my living room was a surprising 80 degrees and the bedrooms 70. I would highly recommend this stove to anyone wanting to decrease their heating bills. This wood burner is very easy to use and is very efficient. I heated my home the whole night with about 5 or six 6 logs. The most satisfying par of the stove was the already installed blower. All the other stoves i have experienced had a very weak blower and this one will acually blow your hair when in the high position. The variable speed on the blower is also a nice feature. I have a friend who ownes a home as well and will be purchasing and installing this same stove. He was very impressed. With the price of electric and gas furnaces......This is a very nice alternative heating source."

Drolet Savannah good purchase,
November 4, 2009
By Warly from Leyden Massachusetts, western MA
"1. The stove arrived within the time frame stated by Northern Tools. The delivery company would not take it into the house, even for extra money (over or under the table). So getting it into the house was the largest problem.
2. Once out of the box it is easy to run; easily hooked into the stove pipe we had from our previous stove, 6" pipe.
3. The stove put out a lot of heat. In moderately cool weather, like 30 to 40 degrees, one load of wood takes the chill off for several hours. We have not had occasion yet to use it in extreme cold but already I can tell that it will use less wood to make more heat than our 30 year old Resolute .
4. The draw backs: Not as pretty as many others; the door swings open in front so that ash flies out (top loaders don't do this); to use the ash drawer the stove must be cold.
5. Pluses: quality stove for the money, beautiful view of fire (distracts from the plain design of the stove), quiet fan, good draw design so stove is efficient; flat top easy to cook on or humidify the house.
I would recommend the stove to friends (and strangers!)."

Great stove for the money,
October 27, 2009
"I admit I was skeptical buying a wood stove online, but I am more than pleased with my Savannah. It burns hot seems fairly efficient and the price is great compared to other stoves. The only thing I would like to see is a bigger fire box."

Perfect for our Home!,

"We were looking for a wood stove to heat our 900 sq ft. home. This has been perfect! We've used it for two years now without any problems. It gets to house so warm we can even leave windows open in the winter for fresh air. I'll never use baseboard or forced air heating again!"

"I have used woodstoves for over 50 years, mostly in the high country of Idaho, and I am VERY impressed with this stove. The brick lining is a PLUS, also the fan! It is the very best wood stove I have ever owned, plus the fact it is made in Canada and NOT China!!! Drolet should be very proud of their product. There is not a thing I do not like about this stove. Its great!!!"

"I installed this unit this year after living in my 1500s.f. home for 6 years using an insert type fireplace. My heating bill used to average about $200 a month, and burned about 5 cords a year. Now my heating bill is about $80 a month and I only burned about 1.5 cords this winter burning it all day and night long. It is easy to clean ,stays warm for about 8 hours even after the fire goes out. I build homes for a living and recommend this unit every chance I get."

By Miker828 from New Mexico
"I purchased the Drolet Savannah to save on heating my home over 2 years ago. I have turned off my furnace and will not use it again. My home is a little over 2000sq. ft. This stove heats the whole house. I love the fact that this stove comes with a high vloume fan.
The price makes this stove one of the best deals I could find anywhere.
I highly reccomend this stove to anyone thinking about installing a wood burning stove."

15% Reduction in my heat bill !!,
March 16, 2009

"I really the Drolet Savannah stove. We heat 3000 sq. ft. with the wood stove.
The stove is in one end of the house and we use a small fan to move the heat to the other end. The stove performs very well. The stove is designed to burn exceptionally well and leave very little ash. I really feel the price of the stove was very reasonable considering the construction and neat, compact design of the stove. It is a great tool for saving money and is a really nice piece cosmetically. It adds a "welcome" to the room."

GR8 Wood Stove 4 Shop. Super Fast Delivery,
February 15, 2009
By fairless70 from Bushkill Township, Pennsylvania
"After doing a lot of researching I decided to go with the Drolet Savannah 44,000 BTU Wood Stove, Model# DB03020. I needed a stove for my Shop. This is my first wood stove and I did not know what to expect. I got the hang of using the stove by adjusting the air intake. Just followed the directions, did not get any smoke rollout. The first 24 or so hours you could smell the paint as it cured and then no more smell. The stove comes with a quiet blower as well, which helps circulate warm air. The ceiling fan in the shop helps move the heat around very well also. ordered the stove on Monday and it was at my house 4 days later, WOW.. The stove was packed well and handled well by the shipping carrier, (YELLOW FREIGHT) The stove was ready to use right out the the crate, no assembly. I installed the chimney the previous weekend, which was pretty simple to do, but set me back $1000.00. Over all is was a great experience buying from NORTHERN for the first time. I would recommend this stove."

Great Heater!,
January 11, 2009
By Jeren from Carrollton, Texas
"I did research for a year on wood burning stoves. My decision to buy the Savannah was based on efficiency, price, and appearance. I tiled a corner area of the living room where I put my stove and I absolutely love the way it all turned out. The chimney was a bit of a challenge but the directions were very helpful and I made it through just fine. The stove is low maintenance with a great overall ability to heat my room. The central heater in my house hardly ever comes on with my stove burning. The stove window is big enough to see the fire and it gives a tranquil addition while relaxing. The blower that comes with the stove blows a gentle warm breeze across the room adding to the heating efficiency.
I was not too happy with the way that Drolet packaged the stove for shipping. By the time I came to the Northern Tool in my area to pick the stove up, the pallet had been busted up form transit. Although the stove had a couple of minor scratches when I picked it up, they touched up just fine with some heat rated spray paint. Eric, the Manager at Northern Tool, was very eager to assist me in any way during the purchase process.
All in all, this was a very good purchase and I can't say enough about the "bang for the buck" with this stove."

A nice stove for the price,
January 7, 2009
"After shopping around and seeing stoves at up to more than twice the price, I decided to install this stove in my 800 sqf basement playroom as an auxiliary heat source. I'm satisfied with its performance so far. It took a few fires to get the knack of it; a little different than using a regular fireplace but if you follow the manual you should be fine. The ambiance of the fire through the glass door is fantastic! The blower motor is a nice feature but you don't necessarily need to use it, I find it only makes a difference when you've got a real hot fire going after 3 or 4 hours. You can get a bit of smoke in the room from opening the door to reload wood, but I don't know if there is any wood stove that is immune to this. The key to success with any wood stove is dry seasoned wood! If you try to burn anything but that you will be in for much frustration. My only critique would be to have a thermostatic damper rather than the manual one. All in all it's made well and looks great in my room, I've gotten many compliments from guests at my recent Christmas party!"

Drolet Savannah 44,000 BTU,
January 2, 2009
By Oatis from Saratoga New York
"I purchased this wood stove in August and installed it in September. I would deffinately recommend this stove to my friends. I love watching the fire and the glass stays fairly clean. It heats my single wide mobile home pretty easily . The stove seems to be very well built. I think the stove could have been packed better when shipped. The fire brick should be packed separately from the stove. They left the brick in the stove and it's a wonder it didn't break the glass as it was just loose in the stove and all up against the glass when I got it. But in the end I would buy from Northern again a Great buying experience!"

Stove,

By Roman378 from Southington, CT
"Installed a month ago, works pretty good for the money. Heats up 2000Sq feet house with drafty windows, blower helps alot. When loading wood u will get some smoke inside, this is my first wood stove, so can't compare to other stoves. When loaded with wood at 10pm at 6am still have red ash just enough to start a fire."
