poorly conceived, poorly built

"I went with a fluorescent work light because it's brighter than an LED and cooler than a halogen, this is the only one I could find locally. The light assembly is attached to the tripod with a knob bolt to make it easy to remove, the one I purchased came with a bolt larger than the hole so I couldn't fully assemble it. I could have bought the correct size bolt to make it work but while the description says "... lets you put light right where you need it." that is only true if you need it straight ahead or above you as the bracket is designed so the lights cannot pivot down and I needed to light up a tabletop. This should be easy to get around, just flip the bracket around, but you can't because the holes on either side of the bracket and light are different sizes so you would need to drill out the metal bracket and plastic lamp casing to make it work. At this point I gave up and returned it for an LED light from a different manufacturer. Also the plastic casings were poorly cast and chipped, one of the clamps that hold the bulb in place wasn't bent correctly to hold it snugly and despite there being 2 manuals included neither one was of any help."

Excellent light but top heavy

"This dual worklight is heavy duty and provides excellent light. It is a bit top heavy, so one needs to add support if used outdoors. Indoors, it is nearly perfect until a light needs replacing. Northern does not sell the replacement bulbs, and when you go to the designers edge web page, you need to be a company to order bulbs. I have found the replacement bulbs on line in packs of ten, but singles can only be ordered by using the enclosed card, which includes expensive shipping. So the major flaw with this worklight is the lack of a convenient and reasonably priced source for replacement lamps. Northern should show its customers enough respect to provide replacement bulbs for the products they sell."

"The lights are very good and rugged. only problem i had was that the light can be blown over in higher winds, though i am sure almost all would. easy to fix though. great overall light set."
