"I use it on my tractor when pushing snow out of my driveway. It just makes it easier for traffic to see me in case I don’t see them. It work well and can be seen at a distance."

Highly Attention Getting Strobe,
August 29, 2007
By farmerwannabee

"I made a mistake when I first bought a 2 joule strobe to mount on the roof of my tractor when I have the snow blower mounted. I never quite felt safe when I had to drive on the road in limited visibility conditions. We don't have a very busy road, but it is very hilly with lots of curves and I didn't feel that I was giving enough warning distance when I'd run the snow rig to clear neighboring lanes.
I moved up to the 8 joule beacon and haven't had any second thoughts at all. It appears to be about the same intensity as the state plow trucks use. I've mounted a two conductor "trailer" plug to the tractor cab wiring so all I have to do is place the magnetic base on the cab roof and plug it in when I mount the snow blower. I remove it at the end of the blowing session and "stick" it to the chute of the blower so it is ready for next time.
I made an excellent choice this time and I couldn't be happier with the results. Northern has made me feel safe again."
