welder is fine - what about adapter?,
August 18, 2009
"The welder works fine but does take time for a novice to learn. The first time I have ordered an 8" wire spool, it was loose on the adapter and prevents a good weld. Anyone solved this?"

Perfect for smaller fabrication projects,

"If you don't have a 220V service in your garage or workshop, then this is the welder for you. It's just right for numerous creative projects for your car, boat, bike, or original artwork. If you buy the right accessories you can even work with aluminum and stainless steel too. I didn't need a production welder, so why spend the extra money to have one sitting around? If you take on a larger project just do the fabrication at home and take your project to the local professional welding shop for final assembly. This procedure will save you a lot of money as it has for me."

good little machine,

"I bought my welder about three months ago and have already made a welding cart, exhaust work, box sides on my pickup, pipes on an old motorcycle, and other small things. I found that it is slightly under powered and the drive rollers dont adjust tight enough so the wire slips a little bit causing sputters wile welding but it still lays down nice looking welds. I have also found that it welds much hotter and smoother with the flux core wire but also works very well with inexpensive co2 shielding gas and .023 solid wire.
My overall opinion is that this is a very afordable and usefull welder for the money even though it has a few small flaws i dont regret buy it at all."

Good value light duty wire welder,
April 27, 2009
By RASUTH from Scottsville, VA
"Construction is very similar to the Lincoln WeldPak 100 that it replaced with slightly inferior fit and finish.
Wire feed roller could not be set to compress properly as adjustment threads ran out before adequate compression was achieved, resulting in 'wire slip'.. Not a good thing. I put a couple of washers under the wing nut adjuster and was able to get the roller compressor to work.
Also, the set screw for the roller stripped when I tried to flip it over to use a smaller wire than shipped configuration. So the steel used is inferior.
And finally, the door alignment to the case had a large gap at the bottom because the latch receiver had been bent out to allow engagement. This looked like a 'hammer adjust' manufacturing tweak. I pushed it back out until the door closed to where it was in line with the rest of the housing.
Other than the above, it appears to work quite well."

"I bought this welder after reading the reviews on it and decided that for the money it was the best deal and would work perfect for my farm. It came on time and with a new helmet that I didn't know was coming. The setup was a bit of a pain because I couldn't understand the manual until read it numerous times. But the welder runs great and puts down good strong welds. It compares to my Dads Hobart 180 as far as features and smoothness of weld. My first project was a welding cart and now repairing a livestock trailer. I had bottle of argon mix and hooked it up immediatly and havnt stopped. I recommend this welder to anyone who needs one that needs a 115v and portable welder."

Works great right out of the box.,

"I haven't welded in a number of years, but it only took me about an hour to have this up and running. I've already welded a caster to my engine dolly frame, as well as repaired where both front wheels from my lawnmower broke off from the mower deck.
It only took me a little practice to get back in the groove with this MIG welder. You can't beat this for the money."
