Good All Around Generator

"The Gen is a good all around product. My only complaints would be the assembly instructions and the very cheap battery cables they used. They appeared to use 19 strand battery cable which makes them very stiff. If you don't get the factory battery and they get you a universal battery, you'll need to route the cables differently to go around the battery brackets. Moving them more than once makes the terminals snap off due to this low strand cable. A higher strand cables would make them flexible and easier to use, less likely to break. The only reason I rated 4* was because I had to strip and re crimp some of my own terminals to attach the battery. Otherwise, initial quality looks good."

Excellent product!!!!

"After researching genertors for a long time we finally settled on this Northstar 8000. It is an excellent quality made product with plenty of power. The Honda GX 390 engine with idle control is flawless, smooth starting and runs strong. The electric start makes life easier, although recoil start is not that difficult. We used this unit with 30 amp inlet box to electric panel to power our 2000 sq ft ranch style house for 12 days after Super Storm Sandy. This unit powered two refrigerators, appliances, tankless hot water heater, gas furnace with 5 zone pumps, tv's, computers, lighting, washer/gas dryer, space heater and our sump pump without blinking an eye. Both a family member and friend observed our generator in action then went home to order two of same units. We HIGHLY recommend this generator to anyone looking for quality product with a resonable price tag."

"This product is very easy to use .
Researched many generators and this was a great choice . Buy the Battery and Add on Wheel Cart asemblly when you buy this product . They are a must have and the price is fair . Other batteries may not fit as well if purchased by another mfg .

Northstar Generator

"I bought one of these 9 years ago when I build my house. I have never used it, only started it about 5 times in the past 9 years just to make sure it still works. Sometimes letting it run for a few hours to burn off the gas, it has always started on the first or 2nd pull at the most. I store it as recommended but just wanted to say it is a quality product."

NorthStar Generator

"Purchased the NorthStar 8000 generator with electric start and Honda engine GX390 on 1/2/2012. When placing my order your customer service team on the chat line was outstanding and answered all of my questions with expertise. They explained everything in detail including arraigning the shipping. The unit was bought for emergency home backup as we lose power, 11 days the last time and needed a dependable system to take care of our well pump, refrigerator, freezer, furnace, and lights. The unit is extremely well built. The delivery of the unit was ahead of schedule and after adding the wheel kit, oil, and fuel the unit started right up with no problem. I paid a little more but got the best. Would highly recommend this quality product."

Northstar 8000 Surge Watt Generator

"I have recently un-packaged the unit and added the wheel kit. Assembly went very smoothly and everything fit very well. After reviewing the manual, and getting the engine ready to test (add oil and gas), I opened the fuel valve from the tank, pulled out the choke and the Honda 390 Engine unbelievably started on the first pull !!! I bought the unit with electric start but have not yet installed the battery (which I'll do shortly). Just amazed with this engine. Also, voltage shown on the meter is right on the money. Tested generator with load. This is a great unit so far. Honda engines are the BEST!!"
