The Lincoln Electric AC/DC 225/125 stick welder is the deluxe version of Lincoln's AC-225 arc welder. It gives the user the same traditional design and functionality of the AC-225 but adds the smoother, more traditional DC welding arc, making it an ideal choice for the farm, shop, home or anywhere improved arc welding performance is desired. It provides AC arc welding power from 40-225 Amps and a DC welding output range of 30-125, making it extremely useful as a stick welding power source for maintenance, repair, fabrication, construction, erecting and hardfacing applications. You can also use the AC/DC 225/125 for cutting and piercing holes in steel. NEMA rated, UL listed and CSA approved. U.S.A. "This is the Lincoln Tombstone. It does every welding job you are likely to encounter, with the right stick selection. If you only had one welder, for everything you have to do, this would be it, hands down.
They've been making this unit for a long, long time. The parts are widely available, even in the field. It's built like a freight train, and will last much longer than you will, as long as you don't set it on fire or throw it in a river.
Welding performance is excellent, especially in DC mode. DC is easier for beginners than AC, and very useful except on magnetized surfaces. If you can swing the price difference between this and the AC-only unit, you'll be glad you did.
This really is the standard-bearer. You can spend a lot more money, and buy a very flashy machine, but for 95% of the jobs I'm likely to encounter, this unit works great."

"Lincoln Welders are a 5 star product. The first Lincoln Welder I used was my Fathers, He bought it in 1970. That welder is in my shop now and still in use today. As far as getting your moneys worth, you can't beat these welders in performance and reliability. They are the welder that keeps on welding and I personaly rank them among the best for professional use, occasional welding, farmers and hobbiest. A steady quality weld is what one can expect from these units. I would not endorse these welders if I didn't have extensive hands on experience with them. Buy quality, buy a Lincoln Welder."

"I started out on these in Jr. high ('75) in the shop class. Have owned other welders and none of them perform like the trustworthy Lincoln . The AC/DC allows the user to perform very smooth uninterupted welds . One very important thing to try to do , is , make your self as comfortable as possible before you begin welding . While the unit is turned OFF practice holding the welding lead with a welding rod inserted to find your comfort zone . Keep in mind , you can even bend the welding rod in order to find a comfortable position for your welding hand ( arm ) . When I used the other brand welders , it didn't matter how comfortable I was , the welding rod would usually keep sticking to the piece I was welding on , I was constantly having to break it free . With the Lincoln AC/DC welder it gives me constant uninterupted power I need and produces very nice welds , period ."
