"I purchased one of these to protect our new raised beds garden. We found out that it did not reach to the end of the garden so we purchased a second one to put at the other end. Our garden was not bothered by deer or any other animals when ever we could remember to turn them on. The three second spray time might be a little longer so the spray has time to go through the whole range of the setting. but other wise it has worked very good up until the time I ran over one with the truck."

"I've only had the device a couple of weeks but it is working great. It took some time to set-up; but, the ducks and geese don't eat the grass and leave droppings in the area anymore.

"Works great for a small garden. Deer were no longer an issue. Sprinkler is good for about 2 summers. It seems like it ought to last longer. Plastic gets brittle, and clear plastic motion sensing window gets cloudy so it looses sensitivity."

"I recently purchased one of these Havahart motion detecting sprinklers, and am as satisfied as a guy could be. My need for such a sprinkler came when my neighbors' cats insisted on using my yard and landscaping as their litter box. When the appeals to my neighbor to keep her cats indoors were ignored, this sprinkler sounded like the next best option, and boy was it ever. The day it arrived, I unpacked it, assembled it, and set it up in it's intended "target rich environment." The only thing I had to do was sit back and wait. Later, while out in the garage, I hear the distinct sound of sprinkler cutting the late afternoon air, and to my amusement, I see a wet cat running for cover. This thing is Awesome! In summary, this product is easy to assemble, easy to set up, has up to a 30 foot range, adjustable sensitivity levels that work like they are supposed to, and operates on a 9 volt battery. If you have "problem cats," or animals eating your garden, this is the product you've been looking for."

"I love this product. I bought one 4 yrs ago to keep my neighbors animals out of my yard but discovered it's use for so much more and now I have 5. I have used it to deter my own dog from digging under my gate and even chewing on my fence. After a short time, it changed her behavior. It will keep solicitors or other unwanted strangers out of your yard and off your property. It may not be an alarm but it sure does the job of one. Day or night. I never go out of town without them turned on. Because of those reasons a lot of my "single" friends and neighbors have purchased them for their homes. It also has the great benefit of watering your yard or plants a bit and can be adjusted from one small direct spot or a complete area and the distance of the spray is also adjustable. It is great hooked up to a "timer" on the hose."

"The sprinkler works as stated. We have a deer problem and they DO NOT like it.
Finding the right setting can be a little touchy and don't be afraid to get wet setting it. The stake should be metal and longer. Driving it into hard soil is difficult and when the soil gets wet the sprinkler tends to lean. This messes up the range setting. I drove a steel rod in the ground and a few zip ties, problem solved."

"I bought it because there are two dogs using our lawn for their outhouse. It does the job. It also chased away some kids who wanted to dig in our garden. When setting up the aim of the spray, be prepared to get wet. When the battery gets low, then the spray is shortened and the sensitivity goes down. The first battery did not last very long. I am not sure that it was a good battery to begin with. It is a neat product and I am looking forward to play with it next spring."

Deer stay clear of my yard with photovoltaic spray,October 15, 2007

"I placed a few spray-away motion sensing sprinklers around our English garden, which is chock full of morsels the deer like to eat, such as hostas, hydrangea, and other various and sundry wildflowers. Now, when the usual visiting deer enter the yard, they run through it, not stopping to be whacked by the water spray. Newcomer deer get a face full of 60 lbs of water pressure and run a beeline from whence they came. Only problem is that winter is arriving and I'll have to resort to other deterrent measures. These waterguns really work. I added a few to where we had hydrangeas chewed to the bare dirt and now the deer avoid that water protected area...the growth is full and lush. My neighbors are astounded. My fertilizer guy probably hates me because he gets a soaking too."

"I have 5 of these gadgets protecting the perimeter of my patio and vegetable gardens. Using a photo-electric sensor, they do exactly what I expect of them--they starle and disburse foraging deer, preventing them from nibbling my plantings into memories. Each requires a 9-volt battery at the beginning of the season and the hose connections require some planning and additional hardware. This is the best deterrent that I have used and requires the least attention. The on-off-sensativity switch is simple enough and allows access to the outlying areas when required."

"I have a residential vegie garden in a semi rural area of Los Angeles. I was having trouble with squirrels eating the apricots and avocados on my trees, and my sweet corn was under constant attack from raccoons. I installed two HavaHart motion detector sprinklers, and they forced the squirrels and raccoons to go find some other place to pillage. The only problems that I had were caused by my forgetting that the units were there and operational, so I got soaked a few times before I learned to shut them of as I entered the garden to work.(I may be old, but I am slow). I placed one at each end of the garden, and it took only a couple of tests to adjust the spray and the sensitivity of the units. If I were the designer, I would make the spike that goes into the earth longer so the unit is a bit more stable at high pressure settings. In short, the units did what I had hoped that they would do."

This Sprinkler is Effective on Two Legged Pests,July 9, 2007

"I heard about the Havahart Spray Away Motion Sprinkler from a friend who has one and uses it to keep the local animals out of his yard and garden. He joked one day after I complained about our summer-long two legged pests that perhaps the Havahart Spray Away Motion Sprinkler might work to keep them out as well. You see, we live in a resort town and my residence lies between the town's largest local watering hole and it's sole 24 hour convenience store. The walk from the bar to the store is only eight blocks long - just enough that the bar patrons aren't discouraged from walking, or staggering there, as the case may be, on a warm, summer's evening. As happens to the very inebriated, the call of nature often becomes a scream that will not be ignored as the bar-hoppers are passing my house. Our large maple tree and relative darkness on the side of the house make for an inviting public outhouse atmosphere. We've tried everything over the years to discourage this behavior, but people under the influence of alcohol don't seem to have the capacity to learn, so everything we have tried up until now has failed miserably. The other problem we have is that we live in a group rental area of town. That means that we have several homes on our block that are full of young, single adult wannabes. Actually most of the kids are pretty good, but a few insist that my rear yard is the best shortcut to their rental units. The more I thought about it, the smarter my friend's off the cuff idea seemed. So I purchased and set up two Havahart Spray Away Motion Sprinklers in our yard.
