"Used it, liked it, it worked very well. The wand could be a little longer, an adjustable length would be nice."

Good product at the right price,

"I've had this product for about a year and it works great for burning weeds. The piezo lighter feature is nice. When your propane tank is low make sure that your tank is at room temperature otherwise the flame will go out after a few seconds. I strapped my propane tank to a backpack frame so I can walk around my property without having to pick up the tank."

"Great flame control, ease of use, and durable, however the installed ignitor is mounted in a very vulnerable spot and ours stopped working about the fourth time using it... so plan on purhcasing a grill lighter to get it started later on.."

"Easy to use if you follow the instructions. Lights fast and heats quickly. Gives you excellent flame control with the one touch control lever. A little fragile, but should last for years with proper care and use. Will be great for clearing ice from the front steps or sidewalk this winter."

Awesome little tool,
October 30, 2008
By Terry101

"What a great tool for the money. A bit tricky to learn but once you do, its great for the price. After connecting to the torch and the propane tank, Make sure the valve on the torch is closed. Open the tank valve very slowly and only a little bit. There is a shut off built inside the connection that will close if you open it to fast or to much. If you hear a click, you probably opened it to fast. You'll have to undo the connection to release the shut-off valve. Ok, that done, wait about 30 seconds to allow the gas to fill the hose (long hose). Now open the torch valve a TINY bit also. Not much, just enough to hear a tiny bit of gas running thru the torch. Light the torch or push the iginition if you have one. Once lit, you can control the flame with the trigger..Great tool and great deal, fun to play with. Also remember to connect to the tank the threads turn left, the opposite way as most things. The other little handles included are to fasten to the torch near the head to rest the gun on while its hot so you dont melt or burn whatever you sat it on. I bought this thing to 1) shrink wrap my boat. the real shrink wrap guns cost $400 or more. 2) to burn out 2 stumps from trees I just had cut down and 3) to burn out weed from my paver patio and driveway. and just to play with..."

great except for ignitor,
August 12, 2008

"As previous reviews had indicated, the igniter did not work from the get go. Other than this initial issue, this torch is great! I have used it to keep weeds at bay in my garden and in the driveway. It’s also been great to get brush piles burning. (No more petroleum products!) The 32 ft hose is very covenant also. I am not sorry I purchased this torch vs. some of the more expensive models and would recommend it to anyone."

"This is a great tool around my place. I have a large retaining wall, VERY LARGE BOLDERS, that has (or should I say HAD) weeds growing in it. This thing makes quick work of them for me. The first day I had it I went though a tank of propane, but I must have been burning for 6-7hours straight.
I would and have recommended this to a friend and he has purchased this same one."

"Torch works great. Like others have stated the tank valve has to be opened slowly or it seems to activate the OPD (overfill protection device) inside the valve. Once going it works great. No chemicals to get of rid weeds in landscape rocks."

Decent tool,
August 11, 2008
By whocares

"This tool is effective at cleaning up weeds around your property in open areas. It converts weeds to ash which washes away the first time it rains. It's not very good for close trimming because of over-burn. Some find of shield to allow closer trimming would be nice. Personally I wish the wand was about one foot longer. I'm six feet tall and find I have to stand and walk in a stoop to use it."

Outstanding product,
August 11, 2008

"I am extremely pleased with this product. I searched quite a bit before finding this and don't think you could find a better weed burner, especially for the price. The self-ignition is invaluable because when burning weeds, the flame will occasionally get snuffed out if you get too close for too long - it just takes a little practice to know how far away to hold it. It's extremely handy to be able to just click the igniter and be burning again in a few seconds. A long hose is almost a necessity in order to be able to make good time when burning fence rows, etc. and they've included a long hose with this product. One caution - you just need to be careful not to bump the wire leading from the igniter - mine has gotten a little loose and a little protection here would be the only suggestion I could make on this product. The handle is very comfortable in the hand and, overall, I would very highly recommend this product."

"I purchased this torch to burn leaves from the field stone seawall at the lake. It works awesome. I was really surprised with the power it has. It was easy to use. I followed the instructions of others to crack the propane tank just a bit to light and never had a problem."

"I would highly reccommend this tool to any one you needs to burn weeds on the driveway or fence line. I also use it to start large brush piles on my farm. It is very simple to use and works very well. It is also much safer than using liquid fuel to start the fires. Thanks Northern"

Good torch for the $,
February 28, 2008
By arcsandsparks

"I'm about to order my second torch (if that tells you anything). This is a TOOL that I use DAILY in our art studio. I love the versatility of the long hose, and the torch is very powerful. Doesn't take much fuel to light it, only open the gas just a crack.
One thing I didn't like about the long hose is the coupling at the tank. Lots of use has caused a small leak at the coupling, and the hose can't be ordered separately. There's nothing wrong with my old torch, it's just that I can't get a replacement hose for it! So....they get you on that one. You have to order a whole new torch and hose kit. Fortunately they aren't that expensive.
Also, the auto start wire broke on it within the first week. (really whimpy). But I just use the manual striker, so no big deal.
All in all, it's worth the $."
