Exceeded my expectations.

"Purchased this heater for a solid concrete basement under my new garage. The area is very cold & damp because of all of the concrete & this heater has more than met my expectations when it come to heating the entire area. The heater was easy to install & takes up very little space because it is suspended from metal decking. It heats up rather quickly, is quiet & gets the room toasty warm in a matter of minutes. My natural gas bill is only a few dollars more than before the heater was installed so that is a plus. I am very satisfied with my purchase & with Customer Service. I will be returning in the future for another heater purchase."

Great Heater

"I Bought this heater to heat a detached 3 car garage that is uninsulated. I choose this one over the 45,000 btu since it was uninsulated and only $50 more. I will be insulating sometime in the future and it will probably be overkill then but its working great now."

Good Heater for a garage

,
May 7, 2012
By racer14
from Upstate New York
"Purchased this 75000 LP heater for a 1500 sq.ft. garage that is totally insulated . Works fine and heats up quickly . After a month it would not fire , called propane co. who installed it and they found dirt in the blower to a clear tube . Cleaned it out and worked fine for another month , same problem , cleaned out blower again and it failed to light 2 weeks later . Same problem , seems to be an engineering problem . If Mr. Heater finds a fix for this problem I would give it 5 stars . Found out how to fix dirt problem myself instead of calling propane co. @ $ 85.00 per visit for about 5 minutes to fix ."

75,000 Propane garage heater

"Purchased this heater from northern aprox. 3 years ago.Does an excellent job of heating my 3 bay(insulated) garage. Was easy to install using optional horizontal venting kit.Only glitch seems to be when it is really cold outdoors (10 degrees or less)needs two or three attempts to light up but this only involves turning a circuit breaker on and off a few times and is really no big deal. This was a good investment I should have made years ago."

Thanks Mr. Heater For Solving Condensation Problem

,
January 11, 2012
By ShopMan1974
from Benton, AR
"I had a 30' x 30' metal building constructed in fall of 2010. The building was insulated with 3" of vinyl backed fiberglass insulation. During the winter of 2010 - 2011, I tried to heat the space with an old un-vented natural gas heater. Every time I fired the old heater up, within a couple of hours the walls, doors, and concrete floor would form condensation. The colder the outside temperature, the more the condensation would form. Did a lot of reading on the internet and discovered that un-vented natural gas gives off moisture when burned. Shopped around and decided to buy the 75,000 BTU Big Maxx natural gas heater from Northern Tool. It was easy to install and completely solved the condensation problem. I bought a programmable thermostat. Really like the thermostat. Got real tired of adjusting the old manual gas valve on the old heater in my other shop. Only knock I have with the heater is the fan blades are not balanced and it vibrates. I plan try to use some rubber washers on the mounts to see if that helps BLW, I guess my old shop was too drafty for the for the condensation to have ever been a problem (building construction methods are different too in the old vs new shop)."

Great heater for a big garage

,
January 9, 2012
By alanmc
from Kansas
"I have an 800 square foot garage with 12' ceilings that is uninsulated on 3 sides. The heater does a great job of keeping the garage at a stable 50 degrees in the winter, and is capable of raising the temperature 10 degrees in no time at all. Easy to install, simply ran a gas line and plugged into a garage door outlet in the ceiling. Works great with a digital thermostat, gave me an excuse to upgrade my in home thermostat to a nice programmable model.
I would NOT suggest buying the flue kit that was recommended with this unit, as you will only use a few of the pieces. Better to just buy exactly what you need and save money."

Works Great

"The heater showed up with a few dents in it but no reason to send it back and I am glad I didn't. It works great and is very powerful! The electrical connection inside is a bit wierd (junction with several wires in a wire nut) so it you have trouble powering it up the first time make sure you got your wire nuts on right."

"Well built heater than hangs from the ceiling. Nice addition to any garage even if it is not insulated. This is my second one I have purchased. I sold my other house. I have owned the propane and now the natural gas heater. They are really quiet and work great. It would take about 10 minutes to go from 50 degrees to 70 degrees in a 1200 sq foot garage. Worked like a champ. I do recommend using the duct kit that you can purchase separately though. It makes it so much easier to hang the heater, unless you have the HVAC guys install the ducting when your house was built."

New Shop Building Heater.....Perfect

,
March 14, 2011
By Phajasta
from Grant, Nebraska
"After much research regarding a heating system for my new shop it was apparent that a Mr. Heater Natural Gas 75K BTU Unit, fit all of my requirements.
The positives are, in no particular order:......
Economy of purchase.
Low cost of operation.
Compact overall size.
Overall effieicency.
There are no negatives.
I have now survived a rather strong winter with no problems in any way. The comfort level in my shop is far better than adequate. The unit is quiet and performs better than expected. And, economical it is to operate.
I am quite pleased with my purchase and do not hesitate to recommend these heaters to others. Northern Tool made the purchase easy. Delivery was very prompt. If I had it to do over again, I would change nothing.

"I have owned this heater for 2 winters now. I am heating a 24'X36' barn with a 20'X24' second floor. R-13 insulation in walls R-30 in ceiling. This guy has no problem keeping it nice and cozy.
I had a bad circuit board (first month of operation) Mr. Heater replaced it no charge - no questions. This is the kind of company I like to do business with.
I highly recommend this heater.

Garage Heater - Natural Gas

,
March 14, 2011
By tommycarl
from Central Illinois
"I installed my 75,000 BTU heater in my 2-car garage for use only when needed, not to maintain a constant temperature. I insulated the ceiling with about 8" of blown in cellulose and the walls are uninsulated. Ceiling is 10'. I vented horizontally about 2 feet from the wall, with the heater mounted on the ceiling centrally located on the outside wall. Temperatures this winter were around 20 degrees on several days when I heated the garage, The heater did a decent job of warming the place up and I could work in the garage relatively comfortably after half an hour or so (temp around 40, not t-shirt temps) but the temperature didn't stabilize around 50-60 until an hour or so after turning the heater on. The heater is pretty quiet, but can be heard running.
I like the heater because it's quiet and maintains a stable temperature, thermostat controlled, of course. There have been no issues with the heater and I have nothing negative to report."

"These heaters are not for you. I have had Five of these and replaced them all within a year. They are junk, and dangerious to have in your shop or garage. Problems with Gas switches, Contoll boards. The last one I exchanged wouldnt shut off even with the thermostat unhooked.
Sat on hold with the manufactor for over Three hours and never had a phone call back after I left my phone number. Northern is crazy to sell these, they are junk.
