"This is an excellant value. I looked for several months and this was the best deal I could find. I looked at several comparable units and this was by far the best price for this type of heater. I would highly recommend. The instructions for vertical venting could be a little clearer, but other than that good instructions..Thanks!!!"

"This is a great unit, I installed it in my shop in a couple of hours with my 11 year old son helping me. We suspended it from the ceiling trusses and vented it horizontally out the side of the shed. When it was plumbed with propane, it lit right up. I would highly recommend purchasing this if you have a space to heat this winter."

Great Heater!!!,

By 24Wins

"This is a a great heater! I have a 24x26 finished garage and have had this heater now for two years. It is the most quiet heater I have ever heard and does a great job heating the garage to whatever temp we like. It has no problem heating my garage to over 70 degress in the cold Michigan winters. I have heard many other brands and they are twice as loud as the Mr Heater. Everyone that hears this heater run is very supprised. You can intall this heater upside down if needed like i did. It only needs one inch of clearance on top and I bolted it to the ceiling in the garage with the supplied hangers. Very easy to install. I would recommend this heater to everyone! If your looking for a good quiet heater, buy this one!"

"I received the unit quickly and installed it the same day. Installation was very well detailed in the manual. I ordered all the required accessories, ( vents, gas connector), with the heater to make the installation as easy as possibele. Once in service the heater works flawlessly and keeps my shop (2000SF), plenty warm. I would recomend this heater as a good product at a reasonable price."

Cold Weather Relief,
March 23, 2009
By NDCowboy
from North Dakota
"I purchased and hung this heater in a 16 x 30 foot well insulated shop area of my garage. Installation was fairly easy. The extra cost for using the appliance has been less than $40 per month in our coldest winter months here in North Dakota where we stay well below zero for weeks at a time. Well worth the investment to keep my shop at about 70 degrees for the winter."

"I built a 24 x 40 pole barn with 12 foot ceilings. I insulated the walls with R-19 and insulated above the drop ceiling with R-30. (I'm in PA.) This heater operated flawlessly from the day it was installed. I did have it professionally installed along with the new gas service connections. I had a used oil burner that I had planned on using to heat this garage, but when I considered the floor space it would take up, the low initial cost of the heater made the space savings well worth it. Now I also don't have to worry about oil deliveries. Nor did I have to fab up some type of ductwork. The heater was installed with a digital thermostat, and I leave it set at around 43 degrees when I'm not working in the shop. When I go out, I turn it up to about 55 degrees and within less than 10 minutes, the shop is at temp. It's very quiet and has cost approximately $100 a month to use over the course of the winter months. I would highly reccomend this heater!"

Great heater Bad Circuit Boards,
March 16, 2009
By ambkir
from Brooklyn, NY
"I love this heater but if I had it to do over I would have bought the more expensive Modene. I have been through 3 circuit boards before I received one that actually worked. I live in an industrial loft space making this my primary heat source and it was a cold frustrating winter for me. Once I had a good circuit board the heater worked great. (This is a very quiet blower.) The customer service from the Big Maxx company was outstanding but I would have preferred to have had a heater that worked out of the box. FYI If you have a heater that is kicking off and on every few seconds then you may also have a bad board."

"I purchased this garage furnace based on, "on line reviews". This is my first heated garage.
The basic heater was easy to install, but keep in mind that the unit is heavy and is a two man job to hang the heather from the ceiling (call a friend). I did hire a heating and air guy run the gas line, and vent through the roof.
I am heating a well insulated 20' x 30' garage with 10' to 13' ceilings. Half of my garage has 10' ceilings, the other half of the garage has a 13' valted ceiling to accomidate a four post lift for my hot rod.
The heater works great. When I am not working in the garage I keep the garage at a constant temperature of 65 degrees F. When I work in the garage I up the temp to 70 degrees. It takes maybe 5 minutes to bring the garage up to my desired temperature.
The Heater did arrive with some slight cosmetic (shipping) damage, but Mr. Heater was easy to work with, and shipped the replacement part to my home with in four business days.
I live in a Kansas so the out side temperature can get down into the low teens and below zero at times. What has impressed me so far is the fact that my home gas bill has not shown a huge spike. So far maybe a 5% increase in usage for the garage.
The heater is quiet, and keeps me toasty while working on my latest project. I certainly would recomend this heater for the home owner"

"I would recomend this heater to all my friends that were looking for a heater for there garage .I have this in my 20X24X9 garage with open ceiling and insulated walls and rafters ,my buddy has one of these in his play room and turns it on and openes the door to the out side that he has his carpet cleaning van just out side with a in closed canopy so that when it gets down to below freezing temps her in coloado springs he wont lose his equipment in his van.It beats those construction heaters witch put out carbon monoxied in the garage, its a very quiet unit, I have mine set about 65 degree and turns on and off very nicely ,it was easy to install too,i like the tollerence for around the heater, all i can say is that it works well in my garage and you can my wife i am in there alot to test it!"

"This was an absolute dream to install, very easy and detailed instructions. After reading other reviews I decided to install this in my three car garage to heat my antique truck and motorcycle as well as our daily drivers. The temperatures are starting to drop and this will be a true test for the heater which I'm sure will perform great."

Mr. Heater 75,000 BTU heater does the job,
November 18, 2008
By CWChicago
from Chicago
"I purchased the Mr. Heater 75,000 BTU heater to heat an insulated 2 1/2 car garage. The installation went smoothly with two men. The heater is quiet and kicks out enough heat to warm the garage quickly. It is quiet enough to carry on a normal conversation. I've heated the space to 70 degrees while it was below freezing outside and the unit only ran occasionally. I'm confident it will keep my workshop warm in the subfreezing temperatures of Chicago's winter."

"This is an excellent product. It was easy to install and with only requiring an inch of clearance I was able to put it just about any where in the garage. For a compact unit, it did quick work of warming my 2 car garage. I give this product a 5 star rating for ease of install and for doing what it is meant to do...heating a garage space. Though I now live in GA ( a warmer climate) I purchased and used this product in Michigan."
