Exceeded my expectations,July 11, 2007
By D11RDozerfrom Rochester, MN
"I really only expected this heater to take the edge off the cold but it does a very good job keeping my 10x22 3rd garage stall nice and toasty in the Minnesota winter. It can easily heat the room to 80+ degrees. Of course, the insulated walls and ceiling play a big part in that.
The heater cycles on/off at what I would consider reasonable intervals given the setting I use. The fan is pretty quiet, only producing a low hum so it's not at all distracting. I've used it for three winters now and have been very happy with it.
The main drawback would have to be the price of electricity these days. But I went with this verses a gas heater because I did not have access to the gas line from the garage without adding a whole new run. The breaker box for the house is in the garage so wiring it up was easy as pie.
If you have a similar sized space with no access to a gas line then I don't think you can go wrong with this heater."

Great Heater!!!!,November 6, 2009
By FletchLivesfrom Mc Donald, Ohio
"Tired of working in a cold garage? I was too, until I purchased this heater that is. Don't let the cold weather stop you from getting your projects done any longer. This heater is perfect for any garage, provided it's insulated. My garage is over 600sqft with a 10ft ceiling and it will take the temp from 35 degrees to 60 and keep it there in a flash! Yes it must be hard wired but dont let that stop you. Here is all you need......10-2 copper wire, 30amp two pole circuit in your breaker panel, and a grounding lug for the heater(only because 10g wire is to hefty to bend around grounding screw provided on the heater)and thats it, your done! One lag screw into your ceiling joist is all it takes to mount, thats it, one! No gas fumes, no venting through the wall or roof, just wire it up and turn it on! If you've been looking to get some heat out there in your garage but were never quite sure which one to get, the hunt is over. Buy it now, you won't regret it, I did'nt. P.S. If you are'nt comfortable working with electricity, please hire an electrician."

garage heater,November 3, 2009
By xinloy69from Iowa
"purchased this unit to heat a 30'x24' insulated shop with two 8' overhead doors. This unit arrived on time was easily installed with clear instructions, so far so good, the ambient temp was 42 F. when I fired up the heater for the first time. I like to work in the shop at about 60 F. in fourty minutes this little gem had me peeling off layers. I highly recommed it, if electric is your only option, don't waste your time with portatbe heaters."

quiet - good price,November 2, 2009
By djbartufrom PA
"This heater is very good for the price. It does run very quietly. It will keep my garage warm if I first use my propane heater to get the space up to temp. (However, I have not tried it when the outside temps are below 45 degrees.) If you need to heat a two car garage you may be better off selecting the 7500 watt version - although that one is quite a bit more expensive."

Efficient Heater,October 19, 2009
By Flyer12from Northern New York State
"I purchased the Fahrenheat 5000 watt heater in hopes that it would that it would keep my over 2000 sq. foot storage building above freezing after my wood supply ran out. I set it at two marks above the lowest setting and it kept the building at 40 to 42 degrees even at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees below zero. It was a bit expensive on my electric bill but it did what I wanted. The building is well insulated which is why it probably worked so well."

Shop Heater
"I purchased two of these units, one for my shop and the other for my garage. I have been restoring a '68 Cuda in my garage, and the winters in NY can get real cold. One unit is located in a 20 x 20 garage and is able to raise the temp from 32 degrees to 75 degrees in approx 15 min, I was blown away. The other is in my shop, and I only turn it on when needed, the temp in my shop in the winter is about 50 degrees, and turning this unit on makes for a very comfortable environment. These units have replaced 3 to 4 smaller units that were nowwhere near as efficent, these are highly recommended."

Good for the price,July 13, 2009
By DRTRCRfrom Southeastern New Mexico
"I have a 24 x 24 metal shop building that is lightly insulated, where I build race cars and engines. The winters in southern New Mexico DO get pretty cold especially with the open plains wind chill factor. I bought this with price in mind, figuring I would only get what I paid for, and my calculations were correct. This works just fine to knock the chill off the freeze, and be able to take my coat off in about 15-20 minutes from frozen. It is light enough and managable enough that I hung it from my ceiling joist beam (on a ladder) all by myself with little to moderate effort. Power hookup was fast and easy for me. I wired it directly into my 100 amp breaker box, using a 30 amp breaker switch to turn it off and on, leaving the thermostast on medium-high since it was now out of reach on the unit up in the rafters. I turn it on and off via switch as needed. This works great for me so far... for the money, and for the purpose. It is just right for a small to medium home shop. I like it and may buy another one fror my other garage at the house."

"This Heater is an excellent heater for anyones garage. I added one in my 24x24 garage that is somewhat insulated. I would say that it does a very nice job. It was easy to wire and very easy to hang, it only took me an hour from when it arrived. I would say it is worth every penny."

Workshop Heater,March 23, 2009
By physfshfrom Nanuet, NY
"I installed this heater in my garage workshop. For years I had no heat in this workshop and it made it impossible for me to do any building or repair work out there. The heater was very easy to install and provides just enough heat even on very cold days so that I can do my work. The instructions were straight forward and clear and the heater operates as stated by the manufacturer"

It does the job!,March 23, 2009
By jeff435from Rhode Island
"Bought this heater two years ago; installed it in my 16x19 garage (workshop) and hung it from a homemade metal bracket from the ceiling - just out of "head reach". It does a good job of taking the chill out of the shop; just right for woodworking. This year I insulated the whole garage, which really helped keep the heat in. Installation was easy; I had a portable generator 220V box that I plug the unit into. Quiet operation. I had considered gas, but installation was too costly. Operation is easy; the manual explaned rehostat temp setting control v/s delayed blower. At first I was expecting a bigger blower force, but once in use, the heater did the job. Typical New England weather!"

"Installed this heater in my attached two car garage, approx. 400 sq. ft. with R13 in the walls and R19 in the ceiling, but uninsulated doors. Installation was easy, direct wired to 220. Takes about 1-1/2 hours to bring the temp from 30 to 60 degrees F. Heater is built solidly but looks pretty dated... could use some new industrial design."

Good Heater,March 17, 2009
By moe1from Northern New Mexico
"Actually this heater is being used as a portable heater. We installed a three prong plug on the cord, and use it in two different buildings and an enclosed trailer. It is easy to carry from one place to another, and the amazing thing is how much heat it puts out for its compact size. Here in Northern New Mexico it gets down to the mid teens, and it heats us an 800 square foot building in only a few minutes."

fahrenheat model#fuh5-4,March 16, 2009
By Torinoguyfrom Gambrills,MD
"I got this heater to help cut back on propane use from my larger bigmaxx heater. It puts out an incredible amount of heat for such a compact unit and you get the heat quickly. I use it in a 38x24 garage with 13" ceilings. It will almost heat the whole garage by itself at 45 degrees and above. I like to keep it around 60 degrees. Once the garage is warm in colder weather it really cuts back on how often the larger heater is used. Very sturdy and quality made unit and only takes basic wiring knowledge to hook up."

Electric Heater,March 16, 2009
By GTOREDfrom Springfield Missouri
"I purchased this heater for my 30' x 32' insulated metal barn. Although it heats the barn up to around 55 degrees when in mid-30's outside, the electric costs were out of this world. In one 30 day period with the heater turned on to medium heat, my electric bill went up by $5.00 a day. If you need to heat an area for a short period of time on an intermittent basis, it's fine. If full time heat is required, I do not recommend it."

"This is probaly the best product I purchased this year. I have a 3 car garage (Shop) with a lift to work on my cars. This heater, after much research fits the ticket just fine. I live in New Jersey where the winter temp is around 30 degrees average. My garage (shop) is around 40 degrees. This heater was able to get the shop (garage) up to around 55 degrees. Makes working on my cars in the winter great. No more frozen bloody knuckles. I would rcommend this heater to anyone in the market for one. By the way my garage (shop) is 49' x 27'. Very satified. If I had 2 hooked up I probaly could work on the cars in my bathing suit.
Thanks for the product and great price and fast delivery.
Mike"

"This is a good heater if you are looking for an electric heater for a garage or workshop. Installation is realitively easy. Just pick your best location and screw the anchor into the ceiling joist then run your electric wire to it. The thermostat seems to work well and the fan is not too loud."
