Norseman 1500 Wood Furnace

"Excellent furnace! I have had many wood stoves for heating as well as cooking over the years and this stove has been the best thus far. It is easy to move, for a stove, and easy to install. Came complete with all the installation instructions which are easy to follow. Heats very well! We had a propane furnace in the home we just bought which cost an arm and a leg to heat last winter! With our woodlot out back, we will be able to heat our home only on wood this year thanks to the Norseman 1500! Northern provided clear communication in regard to shipping and was prompt and courteous! Thank you!"

Stove doesn't burn as long as advertised

"The stove operates like everyone says - there is the setup issue with the short electirical cord. The one big problem I have is that it will only burn for 3-5 hours max. This thing does not burn for 9-11 hours. I've burned all types of wood and the only thing I haven't tried is coal. Decent otherwise but I'd definitely get the bigger one or a different brand."

Vogelzang Norseman Warm Air Add-On Furnace, Model#

"Awesome product! The biggest problem I had was figuring out how to turn it down enough to keep the house temperature under 74 degrees. We have an 1,800 sq ft rancher and even with 7 degree outside temperature I woke up each morning to a house still at 70 degrees. It was beautiful and the back up heater never kicked on. Great product."

"Picked this stove up 3 weeks ago and put in my basement. It took a while to set up as I had some chimney issues, but they were not due to the stove. I did have a problem with the electrical metal clad wire being to short to reach the 4" square box given as a junction box for the blower, by raising the box on the prefabricated mounting bracket by 2" I was able to overcome this problem easily. I am an electrician so the instructions were easy enough however I can see how an average person w/out electrical experience could be confused as they were not very clear. With that said I had the stove in place and burning in one day. It burns great and the draft is really good. I am still working on the damper setting for when we go to bed but so far we have had no problems restoking from coals in the morning. I have not gone 11 hours without adding more wood- more like 8 hours tops. I think that the 1500's damper on the bottom should only be open a 1/2 turn at night and the door damper be closed, as I believe it gets enough air to keep it burning as I wake up to only coals. It may be possible to choke it back even farther but I am still experimenting with seasoned hardwood. We had one night that was 15 degrees here and the house was 72 degrees and we were in short sleeve shirts. The house is 1400 square foot and it does a fine job in the basement and I have not even connected it into my heat ducts yet, It took about a day of burning to warm the entire house since my basement has always been 55 degrees. I burned a load of wood in the stove before I brought it into the basement to cure the paint and the only smell we had was from the black stovepipe used to attach to the chimney. I was going to buy the 2500 but they were out of stock, I am glad I purchased the 1500 instead, this thing works great."

vogelzang 1500

"I recently moved into a new house. My home is about 1500 square feet and it's main heating system is electric. I bought the Vogelzang 1500 to use as a backup heating source due to the high cost of fuel. My former home was heated with fuel oil. I have access to a lot of firewood and thought I could save a little money, after installing the 1500 my electric heating cost was negligible. It heats my house to a comfortable level all winter long and I live in northeastern Pennsylvania where we have a long cold winter season.I couldn't be happier with my purchase and show it and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good heating system. Sincerely nebrastate"
