Works Great!,March 7, 2007
By GaragePotterfrom Concord, CA
"I spent a lot of time researching the perfect heater to use while throwing pottery in my garage, After returning my first choice (it set off my smoke alarm in 15 sec.) and a few others I did not like I did more research! At first I was apprehensive because I had to order The Big Buddy, No one had them in the stores. But WOW! It works great and Has a much longer propane life than the others! On low I get about 95 hours on a 20 lb tank. I run it mostly on low when by myself, med to high with others or on those really cold night! Not only do I use it in the garage, but i have taken it to pottery shows, camping (it kept the tent toasty the weekend all of california froze this year), outside concerts, and many other events. It does not smell, and not once has it set off my carbon monoxide or smoke alarm. I recommend this for anyone needing a small portable heater!"

Mr. Heater Big Buddy,November 28, 2006
By DavidHfrom St. Paul, MN
"I purchased the Big Buddy to provide extra heat in my four season porch. I've tried various electric space heaters, but none provided the heat I was hoping for. The Big Buddy has done an excellent job! The room has never been so warm during winter. For the first time, my family enjoys the four season porch the entire year. The cost to operate the unit is very cheap when one uses an external 20 pound tank. I would not recommend using the 1 pound tanks. They are convenient, but don't last long at the high or medium settings. The unit is very easy and safe to use. All my children use the unit for occasional extra heat, and there has never been a problem."

MY BUDDY,November 6, 2009
By Possumknotfrom Southeast
"EVERY BODY NEEDS A BUDDY. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BUDDY'S YOU CAN FIND.
LOOK NO FURTHER FOR A ROOM-SIZE HEATER.
GREAT WHEN CONNECTED TO A COLEMAN POLE LAMP AND A LARGE PROPANE TANK.
WOULD ALSO GO WELL WITH THE MILWAUKEE CORDLESS DRILL I NHOPE TO WIN BY THIS REVIEW. NEED A REPLACEMENT FOR THE MILUAKEE CORDLESS SAWZALL WHICH IS OUT OF DATE FOR LACK OF A REPLACEMENT BATTERY."

Great for the Garage or Workshop,November 3, 2009
By GuitarManfrom VA
"I originally got the Mr. Heater Big Buddy so I could work in my unheated attached garage. It worked great! I would turn it on while setting up for work and in a few minutes, I was a lot more comfortable. Since it's light weight and portable, I could move it to where I was working without having to worry about heating the entire space. I now have a heated workshop, but I still use the Big Buddy as auxilary heat. I can keep the thermostat set pretty low and place the heater near where I'm working. I'm saving a bundle on my heating bill this way."

Great Heater,November 3, 2009
By Bluefishfrom Needham, MA
"Easy to set up and use, with option to use either smaller gas bottles inside or attach by hose to larger source. Safely puts out a lot of heat, keeps windowed porch warm in winter. It pays to get transformer so you can plug it in to 110V, but batteries last a long time any way"

great heater,November 2, 2009
By 4737from forth-worth tx
"I purchased 2 of these heaters for the hunting season and they work great in deer blinds and such, the ability too run off batteries or plug in is a great option. I would reccomend this this heater too anyone who is in the market for a heater. I have only used the small bottles but there is a option to hook up a 20 lb propane bottle."

A LOT of HEAT,November 2, 2009
By oldredandbluefrom Louisiana/Mississippi
"Tailgating in the frozen north (Memphis is the far north) Krewe (club) functions outside in January/February Building those Mardi Gras Costumes in a unheated warehouse...This little heater does it all! I had a large Coleman heater years ago that did a good job, but alas it broke. I bought this one hoping to replace it. It not only matches the bigger (physically) Coleman for heat..but you can manage to put it in the trunk! It is MUCH cheaper to run it off a 20lb or bigger tank..and isn't that much trouble to hook up."

Great little garage heater,November 2, 2009
By Mrkuppyfrom SE Michigan
"I use the Big Buddy all winter long here in Michigan. I use it in my garage for my weekend stoogie break. I start heating 15 minutes before and it's plenty comfortable for the hour or so I spend out there. You definately want to use a 20lb. tank for which you will need the additional 5' hose connection accessory. I also can't remember if the power transformer for the blower was included or not, but that is also a must. I use it more for a directional heater than a whole garage heater and it's perfect for this with it's 3 blower speeds."

"Good value for the money and is economical to operate if the big tank is used. Works well in garage of camping trailer. Much cheaper than a similar one I installed permanently in my garage, using natural gas."

This product is GREAT!!,November 2, 2009
By ScottyBoyfrom Southwestern Pennsylvania
"I have a cabin in northern Pennsylvania where the temperature drops into the zero's during the winter. It always took a long time to warm the place up when I arrived, but now I get this Big Buddy heater running in the back bedroom with a fire in the woodburner in the living room with a Magic Heat box, and the place warms up in no time. I actually look forward to running it. It's quiet and economical. Two 1-pound propane bottles hooked up simultaneously keep it running for 5-6 hours on the maximum heat setting. Spend the extra money and get the electric adapter for the blower...it's money well spent."

Garage Warmer,October 19, 2009
By Bucky08from WV
"Last winter my wife and I had a large family get together that was too large for our diningroom. I set up tables in my newly cleaned, attached two car garage with the cars parked outside. The Big Buddy warmed the garage quickly and quietly. Our guests weren't even aware it was there."

"I had purchased heater after an February 2008 ice storm and the next year we had one close to the same time and I used the heater to heat my home for 4 days and it did an excellent job. I hooked it to a twenty pound propane kit with the hose that you can purchase and it lasted the 4 days without refilling."

Dinner on the Delta
"We purchased the Mr Heater Big Buddy after we enclosed the front of our houseboat. I was worried that the old heater we had would cause problems because it did not have the co monitor.
The evening we took this picture the tempature was in the mid 40's with a wind blowing at about 20mph.
My wife Bonnie snapped this as we were trying a new drink, a lemon drop martini. As you can see, we are warm with a great view. Friends getting together and laughing is what we try to do. We also use the MR Heater Big Buddy for night fishing and it really keeps the front of the boat warm. The fan is a good feature. I have the heater hooked to a 5 gallon propane tank. We would recommend this product to everyone.
Enclosed is a photo of us enjoying good company and the heater.
