Easiest Install-Best Price-Most Heat,

"I purchased Mr. Heater model MHU45NG 45,000 BTU unit for my 26x28 2-car garage with 10 ft. ceilings. This heater is awesome, the blower distributes a mega heat source. I am able to heat my garage on sub-zero days from 20F inside to 68F within 20 minutes. I wired in a Honeywell digital thermostat and control the garage temperature to 40F all winter. It has been a very cold winter here in Minnesota this year, and my Mr. Heater allows me to do many winter projects, I would otherwise have to wait till Spring to do in my garage.
I would recommend Mr Heater to any homeowner that loves a warm garage."

Mr Heater Garage Heater,
November 16, 2006

"Purchased the Mr. Heater Natural Gas Garage Heater to install in a 30'x28' garage. This heater is awesome, it heats my garage up to a comfortable 65 degrees in minutes, even though it may be 15 degrees outside. It's quiet, efficient, and spreads the heat throughout the garage. I chose it as it is compact and space saving with it's only 1" clearance to the ceiling.
Installation was simple, and after adjusting for an altitude of 7000', it fired right up and has not missed a beat since. I would highly recommend this heater to anyone. It is and A1 unit.

"I installed this over the past couple of weekends. The hard part was digging the gas line ditch and hooking into the gas line in the house. Unless you have expertise in plumbing, I'd advise that you contact a pro for the gas connections.
Locating and hooking up the heater was easy. I bought the vertical exhaust kit but decided on installation day to go horizontally out the back wall. It made the job go much quicker than going through the roof. Make sure you get a tube of high-temp sealant to fill in the gaps - especially around the thimble (the part that mounts to the interior and exterior wall).
The performance of the unit is great so far. The local temp was about 45 when I turned the unit on and within 30 minutes the room was up to 60 degrees. I have my garage fully insulated in the walls, ceiling and garage door so I expect the heater will keep me warm even in the cold Michigan winter.
It's time to give back the two kerosene and propane heaters that I borrowed last year."

"This heater is easy to install and works great. It is quiet and heats up my three car garage in minutes. It's low profile and clearance requirements allow installation in garages that do not have high ceilings. Definaltely worth the investment."

Great Product,

"This heater is great for heating a garage. We had another brand that broke down that would have costed more to fix so we went on the Northern Tool website & found this one. To our surprise we could buy one for less than repairing the old one. We were so happy with this one that 2 others friends bought them for their garages. It is a good clean unit that runs quietly. It was easy to connect to the fittings already in place.I would recommend this to all who need a economical way to heat a garage."

Garage Heat - At Last,
July 13, 2009
By Allentp49
from Metamora, IL
"This is absolutely the best heater I have ever had in a garage. I have tried electric heaters, kerosene, wood stoves, ventless gas heaters, and this one beats them all.
It was easy to install (assuming you have a gas line handy), and it provides clean heat with virtually no noise. Since the exhaust is powered, it was simple to run the flue through a side wall to avoid punching hole in the roof - no leaks!
By mounting it on the ceiling, I regained the space that had been claimed by the smelly ventless space heater mounted on the wall.
I can warm my 30x30 garage from 30 degrees to tee shirt temperature in about 15 minutes. And since it is vented to the outside, my garage is constantly supplied with fresh air. No more choking fumes, and recirculating welding smoke.
I wish I had done this a long time ago. Overall - a robust product at a fair price."

"I have owned the 75k version in the past and it worked flawlessly. I purchased the 45k version expecting the same performance. Although I had a problem with a shorted circuit board, the Mr. Heater support was fantastic and sent me a replacement immediately. After installing the new board, no issues. I am a big fan of these units."

"I purchased this heater for my 24'x24' steel garage and love the result. This heater is less expensive than heaters of similar size of other brands but this one keeps my garage plenty warm. I have been working in my garage in a t-shirt only during the Wyoming winter. As for installation, I installed the heater myselft with some help from the wife over 1.5 days. Great heater! Love having a warm garage to work in."

"This heater works great in my 1 1/2 car garage/shop. After installing the unit however the instructions for starting seemed a bit vague. It took a couple of tries but I figured out the correct sequence and on it went. Now I'm warm and toasty while working on projects in sub-zero temps."

Great heater,

"Heater & installation instructions are excellent. All elec. gas & exhaust parts are readily available from local home center. My ceiling hung installation went without any problem, though boosting it up there was a 2 man job. Everything connected and double checked, it fired right up and quickly brings my 25x40 garage up to shirtsleve temperature, even in Chicago's winter. Main blower fan started up pretty noisy, but that has now moderated to more tollerant level...I don't know why. All in all, excellent value for price."

Best Heater for the Price...Buy this one!,
December 9, 2008
By RussP
from Parker, Colorado
"Heater was delivered with no problems at all. After a day of running some black pipe to my garage, the heater took about a half of a day to install with my brother. I went with the horizontal vent......what a snap! Yesterday it was 13 degress outside and my garage temp was 30. I fired it up and in 30 minutes it was 65 degrees in my garage! I have no insulation in my walls...they are drywalled though. My attic space is very well insulated with R40 blown. I would recomend this Heater to anyone who wants to heat there garage economically. Thanks!"

"I purchased this heater and installed it. Went to fire it up everything went great until it was time to light. I think the gas valve is sticking. Called cust. service , they are sending out a gas valve. We will see if this fixes the problem. Unit is very well made. I will post when I get the part and unit is running properly."

"Just installed new garage heater. I had installed gas line and electric while waiting for heater to arrive. Easy instalation! I used small cable and hung it about 8" from ceiling. Took me and a friend about 2 hours (including venting through roof) . Heated my 36' X 24' garage in no time. Won't know how much energy cost will be for a month or so."

"If anyone is considering buying this heater, BUY IT!! What a great heater, anyone who is remotely handy, should have no problem with install. The most challenging part was mounting the heater to the ceiling. I needed advice on venting my heater, called Mr. Heater directly.. great customer service on their end as well. This heater cranked my garage from 35 degrees to 80 in 15 minutes. My garage is an oversized 3 car, and very well insulated."
