Warm in NH,
November 12, 2009
By warminnh22

"I have owned this stove sold under the charmglow name (made by procom) for 4 years. I am very satisfied at the performance of this heater and do not think you can match this value. I heat 1200 sq ft of our home with ease. I would heat the remainder with another unit but the space is broken up with doors and levels so I use 2 smaller vent free heaters.
The continued performance of this stove greatly depends on keeping the burner clean, a very simple task(refer to your manual). You may have to clean the burner 2 or 3 times a season depending on dust and pets. Takes me under 15 minutes.
The blower may begin to chatter or squeal, it too needs cleaning from time to time. The blower fan is of an amazingly good quality and can be removed by taking several screws out on the rear of the unit. Just a remminder, shut off the stove and un plug the blower when servicing.
Finally, be mindfull of "make up air" when using vent free heaters and do invest in at least one quality carbon monoxide monitor.
I am buying this procom stove as a gift for my son. He has 3 children and this stove will help them stay warm here in cold NH

"this stove is great! I've had it about three weeks now and wish we had it years ago! We bought it to make one room of our 1700 square foot split level home more comfortable, but as it turns out, the warmth travels upstairs making the entire house very comfortable! Plus, when it's on, our 80% efficient house furnace does not come on at all! I cant wait to see our new lower utility bill!"

Superb 4 Seasons Room Heater,
November 3, 2009
By martys
from Wausau, WI
"This is my third Procom ventless heater installation. The heater went into a remodled 3 seasons room with storm windows and light insulation in the floor, knee walls, and ceiling. Installed yesterday with the natural gas setting. Took about 1 hour to assemble the heater and several hours to route new gas plumbing. Well constructed unit with standard gas fittings (see picture). Yesterday the temp dropped to 24 degrees and the unit held temperature at 68 in lowest temp setting. Couldn't be more pleased. A very attractive well constructed unit. We have two ceiling fans which circulate the air well on the lowest fan speed. This unit just made our 3 seasons room into 4."

Love this item!,

"I have had this heater in my home for a couple years now with no problems at all. We no longer use our central heating. This heater is very effecient as well as beautiful. It gives off plenty of heat. I love the look of a fire but did not want the mess. We also considered going with a pellet stove, but didn't want to carry in the heavy bags. This was a great alternative. Very easy to set up and install. Directions were well written and easy to follow. I have recommened this heater to several friends that also purchased and enjoy. Price is very reasonable. If you are having doubts... I suggest you give it a try. I don't think you will be disappointed."

Propane Gas Vent Free Stove- ProCom,
November 2, 2009
By LizzyJ
from Texas
"I purchased this LP gas stove from Northern Tool about a month ago. I have just recently had it installed and it seems to be a nice stove. The looks are really good and the installer said it was really nice how it had two different hookups, one for natural gas or one for propane gas. I am using it for propane. The price was great! Shipping was fast and email notices were great. I would use Northern Tool again for purchases."

"This stove certainly takes the chill off of the crisp autumn air in Illinois! I put one in my dining room and one in my living room in this 100 year old house and only keep it turned low. I'm anxious to see how it warms the rooms this winter. I'll report again in February or March! Thanks."

Praise for ProCom,

"This stove is awesome. We purchased it in hopes of heating the upstairs in our 1920's 2 story home. We placed the stove in front of the steps leading upstairs, and it does the trick. This unit heats our entire home - around 1700 sq. ft. On setting '3' (of 5) it keeps the downstairs 72 degrees and the upstairs around 68. We have not got a gas bill since the install, so it will be interesting to see if it is as affordable as it promises. I would recommend this stove to anyone looking for an afforadable heating solution."

Absolutely Awesome!,
September 29, 2009
By Iam1happycamper

"I own a two family home in the northeast. I recently installed a Goodman furnace and am pleased but was experiencing cold spots in the home due to the wind intensity in our area. This little gas stove heats so quickly and with absolutely no smell aside from the initial burn off. The benefit is a reduction of thermal loss of my ducting in the basement, which is insulated but it does get quite cold. The stove is a direct transfer of heat into the living space which cuts down on thermal loss from my furnace. I would advise anyone who has a drafty old house that this little stove is a joy and comfort to own and operate. The installation was easy peasy as well. The fan install is a little hairy with the efficient design of the stove but once you observe the pathways you need to fish wires it's a breeze. My neighbor came by the day I installed it and he will be ordering one for he and his wife. Thanks again Northern Tool and Procom!"

Great Gas Stove,
June 12, 2009
By qeprint

"We bought this stove for our Adirondack Room to heat it for the late fall and early spring seasons. What a great job it does! We live in upstate New York and it gets pretty cold here in the winter months. This stove heats up our 22'x16' porch with no problem at 30 degrees outside. The porch is a screen room with clear vinyl attached to all the windows in the colder months. We are thinking of buying another one for the finished cellar."

"We really like this stove which we purchased for our sunroom. This is our second winter using it and the room stays toasty warm. Our daschund dogs stay in the sunroom and they say " Thanks" to Northern Tools. The only thing about this stove that we didn't enjoy was the blower causing a vibration."

"We have forced-air electric heat and 15' ceilings in our main living area, and our electric bill has been running close to $400 per month in the cold part of winter. Plus, we had a big ice storm in February and lost power for 6+ days and had NO heat except a portable propane stove which heated one small room.
We had made up our mind we were going to do something to save on our electric bill and to guarantee we had heat when the power goes off. (This is the second winter, multi-day power outage we've "enjoyed" in the five years we've been in this house).
So we started shopping around--found this Pro-Com heater on your website. The price was right and it seemed about the right size for what we needed, so we ordered the heater, and when it arrived, had a propane tank and line installed and the heater hooked up.
We are so pleased with this heater! It keeps the whole living area wonderfully cozy (without the hot and cold spots of the electric furnace), and seems very economical to operate--certainly compared to our electric furnace!
I would certainly recommend this product to anybody. It arrived within a few days after we ordered it, in perfect condition. Thanks for a great solution to our heating problem!"

"This dual fuel model is the second ProCom stove I've bought. It works great, as good as the similar model (that burns only natural gas) that I had at my other house..
I fueled it with propane and I set the stove thermostat to keep the room at 75 degrees and I set the electric heat pump to come on at 68 degrees. The heat pump never came on all winter. The rooms we live in stayed toasty warm, the rest of the house stayed above 50 degrees. We didn't need a humidifier, the non-vented stove put out enough moisture to keep the humidity comfortable.
This stove paid for itself in one season through energy cost savings."

Pro con gas Fire place,
March 19, 2009
By Dant15

"We purchased this fire place because we were using an electric heater in our sunroom an I thought why not try to find something that was more appealing to the eye and would cost less. will I just by chance went on to your web site.
And let me tell you this was the best money I ever spent. It looks great and heats up my sunroom like nothing else. the auto thermostate works great. easy to install. my three season room just became a four season room. I told two people that I work with about this fireplace and they both purchased a Pro com. I know for certain one of them purchased through Northern tools. My son is now thinking about purchaseing one for his rec. room. Can't say enough about this unit it's great. delivery on the fire place was less than a week and no hassels. thanks.
