Great Replacement Wheel

"This wheel and tire have been a great replacement for others that have worn out. These are, in fact, better than the originals that were on my pricey garden cart."

Nominally works - needed modifications

,

"I ordered this under the assumption that it was a true 2.80/2.50 x 4 wheel, which would have had a little bigger diameter than a 2.50 x 4 tire. It is actually a 2.50 x 4, and didn't exactly fit where the other wheels I have fit. In addition, the metal is thinner, and the hub is integral to one wheel flange, unlike a heavier-duty 2.80/2.50 x 4 castor that it is replacing. But, I couldn't find anything else like it for the price, so overall, this is OK.
I ended up disassembling it, removing the bearings, and machining down the hub on each side to fit in the caster frames that I had already. The bearings are adequate, but don't have grease zerks or any way to grease them - hopefully I won't need to do so.
I was going to return it as it wasn't exactly what I wanted, but the shipping was almost more than the cost of the wheel, so I figured it would be more cost effective to just modify it to fit.
Overall, it will work ok when I'm done shimming up the mounting flange to regain the loss in height due to the smaller diameter of the tire."
