casters used for farm implement carts

"I used the casters to make carts to hold farm implements weighing between 700-1,000 lbs. I used at least 6 casters on each wooden platform that the implements are resting on. I have smooth concrete and the carts roll, but not easily. It is almost impossible to move by yourself, but with two people it's not too bad. I bought the steel casters because the weight will be sitting on the casters for months at a time and I did not want them flat spotting. They will hold up well, (especially for the price) but plan on someone to help you move if you have a lot of weight they are supporting."

Move Wood Storage

"I used 6 of these on a plywood storage rack. I loaded it with around 20 full sheets of plywood and its easy to move if needed. Previously I had it with a rubber style wheel and it basically was unusable. Just make sure your floor is clean before you move things. I would guess I could double the weight with no real issues.
I ordered 8 more to make a movable rack with all my board stock on it. At 8000lbs capacity I think I should have no worries in holding anything I have"

"I needed swivel casters for the wooden dollies I'd constructed to hold my growing systems. I raise peppers...HOT peppers for the making of my line of hot sauces, and the growing systems hold between 80-100 lbs. of growing medium + the weight of the dollie itself. So I searched extensively on a popular internet auction site for quite a while, finding that Northern Tool & Equipment was not only the least expensive swivel caster offering I found, they more than exceeded my expectations for capacity, etc. They're heavy-duty enough that I fully expect them to last for years to come, saving me work, and money by not requiring any replacement due the the high strength construction and ability to be lubricated, allowing for very easy relocation of my systems. I can now move these heavy systems indoors very easily and quickly when violent weather threatens my plants, and these casters offered by Northern operate so well, even my wife has no trouble moving the dollies they're mounted on around quite easily! These were such a good value for the cost, that I've ordered additional ones twice since then and began finding other products that Northern carries that greatly appeal to me as well. This tells me that these folks, with their great customer service, and lightning-fast shipping/quality packaging are quality and customer-minded in all they offer. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Northern Tool & Equipment and their products, as well as their services. I'm sold...!"

"I put all my equipment on steel casters to aid in cleaning the shop floor and cleaning behind the equipment. The 3 in Swivel Steel Casters provide an economical means to move heavy equipment with little effort on concrete floors. I have several pieces of equipment over 1,000 lbs that I move on a regular basis for cleaning. I would recommend the 3 in Swivel Steel Caster for any application on a solid surface that does not exceed the caster's recommend weight."

"I bought two of these to mount and use as the front two casters on an engine stand. They seem to work for what they were intended to do. I mounted them to the frame with 4 3/8" bolts rather than welding them on. I have yet to mount an engine on the stand, so I don't know if it will hold up to the weight yet. So far though, they do as a caster should do."

"I bought eight casters to put on 4 frames to move my pontoon boat in the storage building. These casters worked great and I can move the boat to any position for easy loading on the trailer or into the corner to minimize floor space used."

"I purchased 12 of these to use on my engine stands. I was moving and had no way of lifting the engines out of the bed of a truck. Bolted four of these on each stand and rolled them in to the trailer. Much easier than having to lift each engine into the truck. Once I got to my new home I rolled them out in just a few minutes with no help. I'm looking to purchase 4 more for a fab table."

"I bought these (6) for a 4 x 12 worktable. I needed to be able to move it around the shop for use and getting it out of they way. Installed the six Swivel casters and now it moves easily by one person. Great value and product.... Thanks Northern!"

"I used them for a mobile base on my 600 lbs. plus cabinet saw. I can move it around my shop with minimal effort. Great deal! I couldn't find wheels at this price, rated to haul a 1/4 the wght. any were else."

"I got 2 swivel and 2 rigid steel wheels for my 7oo+lb. lathe and bench. Now It moves easy to clean around the back. With the existing concrete floor it 's just perfect. I advise greasing them before installing. I didn't see any grease on the axles when inspected out of the box."

"I am using 32 of these casters on heavy duty steel shelving. They allow for easy movement of the shelving, without first unloading the shelf. I did a lot of research looking for a high quality item at a reasonable price. These casters are simply the best and the price is a bargain"
