One of my favorite tools

"I like tools that last and help me get big projects done. I'm not wealthy so I have to balance price, quality and durability. This compressor fits my needs well.
I've owned mine for two years now. I probably have 25 hours on it altogether (run time). If it had a smaller tank like a hotdog compressor or if it leaked the run time would likely be more but this compressor holds pressure so well that I often accomplish those little Dad tasks like pumping up tires or blowing the dust out of the vacuum cleaner without ever switching it on.
I bought it to run my garage. I have about 10 air tools - sanders, sand blaster, nailguns, paint guns and an impact wrench - and it runs every one perfectly. The sand blaster if the biggest air consumer and I do have to wait for the compressor from time to time but my blasting projects aren't that big - yet. Even at work with a sand blaster cabinet and a big IR two stage compressor - the compressor runs continuously so don't expect a single stage like this to run a sand blaster continuously. For all other tasks the compressor will keep up or catch up and switch off. My air sanders are the next big air consumers and this compressor can keep up with them.
I have had zero problems with the compressor. The motor on mine is an AC Century motor. The pump seems to be a European pump for which rebuild kits can be bought if needed or - just buy a new compressor pump and install it yourself. I don't expect to need a major repair like this for over a decade. Pretty darn good for the money in my book.
I've seen this same compressor sold in other stores under different brands for about $150 more. The Morgan refurb is definitely the deal.
I have topped up the oil once since I've had it. It didn't need much. Don't know if the piston rings weren't run in yet or if that is the way the pump will be - always using a tiny bit of oil - but I've put less than a few tablespoons in it so far.
Mine came with a cord but no air fittings. It did not come with any sort of a rubber feet so I had to buy those separately. Wiring up an outlet for this big compressor was easy. I mounted a pressure regulator/dryer to the wall beside this compressor. Not a very expensive one either so when I start to spray quality paint I'll be adding a better dryer. Added a ballvalve to outlet of the compressor which I turn off when I'm done with the compressor and then I switch the power off too. The tank holds pressure like this for indefinitely. If I don't turn off the air outlet leaks in my dryer will eventually drain the tank. If I had to wait for the tank to fill each time I needed a shot of air - I'd be much less enthusiastic about big air compressors. In that case a little hot dog compressor might be more useful b/c it would build pressure quicker.
Definitely one of my favorite purchases. Like my father said: you'll be amazed at how many uses an air compressor has in a busy home shop."

"I just installed this compressor today and so far so good.. I bought the extra 1 year warranty because I was kinda worried about the compressor being reconditioned but I couldnt even tell when I received it.. The only thing I didnt like about the total package is that it didnt come with the power cable or wiring instructions, but thanks to Youtube I was able to get it straight wired into my breaker box with ease.. Seems to have plenty of power so far.. Mine didnt come with a pressure regulator so make sure you pick one up from Northern before you leave.."

"Very good compressor for the money. Was delivered to the store and the people there were very helpful with loading the compressor. The compressor is quite, and has plenty of pressure & cfm to handle any job I have given it. Just wished it came with rubber feet. I had to purcash them and make them work for this compressor. I have already recommended this compressor to friends.."

"I ordered this air compressor base on price what a deal . I have to admitt I was a little worried that old saying you get what you pay for was going to pop up. But WOW ! I was very surprized. This compressor showed up at the door 4 days after I ordered it . Hooked it up the next weekend and ran it thru it's paces. works like a charm. I haven't put it in production as of yet but did try out a air grinder and it had no problems keeping up plenty of air to spare. Thanks Northern I'll be back."
