"Easy to use. Great for cleaning under lawnmower instead of jacking up and creating a hazard. A must have around the farm."

"Nearing retirement, I finally built a dedicated workshop in the back yard. I mostly work alone, and wanted a means of manipulating heavy machinery or fallen logs which I harvest from my property and mill into 6/4 and 8/4 planks. To make this happen (and also preserve my back), I installed a 14-foot I-beam across the narrow dimension of the shop, and purchased a 1-ton Roughneck manual chain hoist to attach to a manual trolley. The Roughneck seems rugged enough, is very easy to operate, and has done everything I have asked it to do. I gave it only 4 stars because it seems a little clunky in operation, which suggests that it isn't made of the finest materials or was assembled to the closest tolerances. However, it is reasonably priced, and since it is rated at 1-ton and I never expect to hoist more than half that, I think it will serve my needs just fine. This is a good device, and a good value."

"This is a great little hoist for the price. I use it for lifting stone slabs for countertops so my normal load is under 1000 lbs. The hoist is smooth and easy to use."

"I bought the chain hoist to use in Africa under extreme conditions because it looked better than cheap off brands. Once I got it in the mail I was impressed with how durable and well constructed it was. Everything was greased properly and its ready to use out of the box."

Good Quality

"I use this hoist along with a Jet 1 ton trolley to pull engines in my garage. It appears to be good quality. I've never had a problem with it lifting an engine. I like the fact that I can push the trolley/chain hoist to the corner of the garage and it is out of the way. It is much better than tripping over a cherry picker 10 months out of the year."
