Great Generator

"A very good generator for the money. Have used it extensively up north to power a mobile home. While not big enough to run everything, used mostly to run at night to operate furnace, lights, microwave etc. Very fuel efficient when compared to operating my big generator. Had trouble with first unit, sent it back for a new one, no problems."

Good generator, Poor service, Design problem

"Purchased generator to use on an extended Alaska camping trip. First generator delivered quickly but had severe leak in the gas tank. Contacted ETQ and shipped generator back with company's assurances that they would make it right and have generator back promptly. With time before trip running short, and no generator, and daily phone calls to customer service, new generator was finally received. Had to delay Alaska trip a day to wait on the generator. New generator came with broken choke lever. Harder to start but runs like a top once started. Will keep it as is because customer service, while nice and pleasant to talk with, has no sway with getting things done well in the company. There is a design problem that is discussed in the OM about starter cord having a limited length of pull. Pulling a starter cord and limiting your pull to just so many inches is very difficult under normal circumstances and especially with no choke where there is a lot of pulling required. Had to make an emergency late night repair to maintain 80 lbs of frozen fish. I think this repair would be beyond the capabilities of 90% of users, which unless they are children or very short armed adults, will break; just a matter of time."

"This inverter is not what I expected. It is suppose support 2,500 watts. It will as long a very small load is added at a time. The breaker kicks out just by starting a DEWALT 3/8" drill without a load or a sawzall without a load, all are well under the load capacity of this generator. I have sent it back to the manufactor twice for a new one. Same thing. If we use flood lights and turn one on at a time it will support 2,000 watts. The factory techs were absolutely worthless and I would not purchase another one. No way. We took load tests on this unit which they apparantly didn't even know how to do. Their reply was simply" that's the was it is"."

"Started on the second pull right out of the box. since then it starts on the first pull every time. Very quiet and low fuel consumption. Runs all of the appliances in my camper including the 12,000 btu air conditioner (but not all at the same time). Its a little on the heavy side, but i guess the means it's well made. I recommend this to anyone that needs small generator."

"I own 2 Honda's and 1 Honeywell generators which are nice generators but too bulky for frequent transporting. I was interested in the Inverter type generator because of its smaller size, I reviewed & priced several brands before deciding on the ETQ 2500 watt, In my opinion the ETQ was the best choice money wise, I considered the Honda EU2000I, a great litle generator but with a costly price tag. When my ETQ arrived I was surprised at the size of it, it was a little bigger than I thought it would be, but not overly big. The overall construction appears nicely built, not cheaply like some of the others I've seen. After filling with oil & fuel the generator started right up and performed flawlessly, the high idle worked as it is supposed to and the sound level was comparable to the Honda. Overall I am pleased with this unit."
