All kidding aside, this stuff really works for washing roofs. It's the best roof wash I ever tried. It even works with cold water. Our battery voltage was too low to fire the steam jenny on our last roof washing job and we used cold water and WOW, much much much better than ANYTHING* else I've ever tried. This was our first use. I'm here now to buy a whole bunch of it. I should mention I'm talking about algea. Roof algea. The black roof stains that grow on the north side of the house. The stuff was running off before we even turned the water on. We mixed 20 gallons water to one gallon Roof Wash and pumped it up to the roof and sprayed it with a hose. After a few minutes the algea was running off the roof. We turned the Power Washer down to about 1500 PSI and rinsed it off with cold water.
* ANYTHING meaning anything that won't kill the kids and the dog.
No fooling around. It works. We've tried everything and this is the best.
I bought this after it caught my eye in the store. I had been looking for something to help remove the algae stains on my roof. I mixed a 1:1 solution of this stuff and applied it with a manual hand pump sprayer. I let it set for a few minutes then agitated it with a very soft brush. Sure enough it removed most of the algae. It also did not hurt the grass or plants on the ground below. I did spray the grass and bushes down with the water hose after I was done. I do have gutters but I know some splashed over. The directions say apply with high pressure but I don't have a pressure washer. I have spoken with a chimney sweeper and he said its OK to use the pressure washer on the roof as long as you use a wide range tip and stay at least 12 inches from the shingles. Always test a small area first.
