Nice Utility Shelving

"At the end of the day I felt like my money was not wasted on this product. The bracing and the bolt together design, make for a sturdy unit. The shelves are a light gauge steel, but should be strong enough to handle an even spread of 50+ lbs.each.
The assembly is pretty straightforward, but time consuming. Be prepared to spend 2-3 hours!!! I had no problem piloting the holes. When you're working with light gauge steel on a large 3 dimensional scale the holes are not going to just line up. Things are going to be bent, twisted, and racked. With very little effort you should be able to pull and twist to pop your bolt through. The hard part for me was threading 82 small nuts in the tight corner of each shelf. I used a power driver to tighten which went pretty quick."

Poorly Designed Shelf

"Purchased two units to store seasons canning jars. Shelves are poorly stamped and do not fit. Leg shape and fit is a joke. It takes pin punch, clamps and a lot of frustration to assemble. With a full woodworking/auto shop at my disposal, assembly time is ~3 hours. The "just bolt together with provided hardware" advertisement is NOT TRUE! The leg stamping/shape does NOT line up with shelf holes. The unit is reasonably sturdy when fully assembled.
Bottom line, spend more as "you get what you pay for"!

Poor Quality Control

,
March 11, 2012

"My sister bought 2 of the shelving units. After trying to put them together alone she called me to help her.
Shelves were not bent straight, the holes for the bolts were off by an entire bolt hole, with no way to line them up.
It was lucky she had bought 2 units because I then sorted the two and got the "best" shelves and made one unit out of 2.
Even doing this the holes didn't line up and the shelves had to be straightened, and clamped with locking pliers to hold them when I bolted them together.
I could not have assembled these without the help of my sisters 2nd set of hands. The only way to use the shelves is to double the amount you need then pay to send the bad ones back.
I will say that once the unit was assembled it was very sturdy and will do the job intended.
The company needs some Quality control then maybe these would be a great bargain, but not until all the holes line up and the bends are made straight."

"These shelves are so poorly made and I'm not sure how you could store anything on these without them falling apart."
