"My first backpack sprayer, after probably two dozen of the hand held variety. It works well and gives a consistent spray pattern. It is easy to use and makes quick work of the task."

SP2 sprayer,

"I cut grass as a side job, and I must say this sprayer is so much better than any of those one or two gallon pump sprayers I have ever used. It saves you time, both due to the 4 gallon capacity and due to the sprayer output patterns and volume of spray. You get a brass nozzle that adjusts from a cone pattern to a stream. And you get two plastic nozzles that spray a wide fan pattern. This sprayer is heavy duty, it can take a beating if "I" didn't break it yet... and it does not leak. I follow the instructions about rinsing it after use, and putting a light oil on the gaskets.
All this being said, it is a rugged sprayer. However, the reason this sprayer did not receive a perfect 5 star rating is because it is NOT perfect. The clamps that secure the shoulder straps are made improperly, and constantly pop off the sprayer when you try to pick it up or take it off. Not a good thing when you are carrying the weight of a 10 lb sprayer plus 33 lbs of water. I have contacted SP Systems about this known issue, and they offered to SELL me another set of the exact same clamps. Obviously, they have no plans yet to offer improved clamps on this model. I will eventually have to go to a hardware store and buy something to rig this up better, because the straps coming off is really a pain and wastes time when I have many yards to spray. And the whole purpose of owning this thing is that it supposed to save time. Time is money in this business. But don't let this deter you from buying this model, I would buy another, just expect to be on your own when it comes to fixing the strap clamps' shortcomings....."

SP Systems Backpack Sprayer,

"This sprayer works perfectly. It is comfortable to wear and takes only a few pumps of the pressure handle to create great pressure for spraying. I have used products in this sprayer that would often clog other sprayers, but with the SP2 I've had no problems with clogging."

"Great sprayer a real time saver. Saves time and energy compared to 2 gallon sprayers; no more stopping to pump the sprayer or constant refils.
This sprayer is surprisingly light and comfortable on your back when full."

SP2 4 gal Backpack sprayer,

"I have purchased a number of these over the years for our pest control company. They usually last about 9-12 months, (a full season for our business.)
That is putting out about 80 gallons per day, 5 days a week. The pumping action works well, and the adjustable nozzle works for a variety of situations.
The pressure allows us to reach many eaves although anything higher than 20-25 feet is a stretch at best. If the wind is blowing, you might reach 12 feet up.
We clean out our sprayers each night (triple rinse), so there is no chemical left in the sprayer overnite.
I do recommend these sprayers for most liquid chemicals. However, do NOT use anything like Timbor or Nibor in these sprayers, for it will ruin them."

SP backpack sprayer,

"I am delighted with the SP backpack sprayer. Not only is it easy to assemble, but it performs well and makes all these awkward jobs about the yard easy and quick to complete.
The sprayer is user friendly, efficient and reliable. It operated as easily as the advertising says it does and gets at all the difficult to reach areas. I don't consider myself in the least technical but found the sprayer easy to operate, even at the first time of using.
Most appealing feature is that it allows you to complete all these chores at a fraction of the cost of bringing in a contractor.
An added benefit is that the sprayer was delivered well within the time that Northern Tool committed.
I would have no problem in buying another SP product based on my recent experience."

SP2 Backpack Sprayer,

"We've used several different brands of backpack sprayers over the years in park maintenance: Solo, Hudson, etc. The SP2 is the first one about which I can honestly say, "It doesn't leak!" That is really important when your people are applying chemicals which can be absorbed through the skin and which may be hazardous to their health.
The weight, capacity, and materials are comparable to previously used brands and models with no appreciable difference. The reliability of these units remains to be seen since we only recently purchased them. But the fact that they truly hold the solution without leakage down the applicator's back means that these are being used. Our maintenance techs had reached the point that they would rather use 2 gallon hand-held units, have to mix spray solution twice as often and carry that weight in their hands than walk around with chemical on their skin and clothes."
