Great tools at a great price,
November 2, 2009
By CowwFace from Colorado
"I got this to fill all the "gap's" in my tools I've managed to cause over the past 10 years. I used them to drop and re-install a transmission in a Rx300 and they performed great.
The sockeds are all six sided, and I have to admit I was not thrilled with that at first, but after using them more I have not even come close to rounding off anything. The extentions have a bit of a wobble built in as well, and that came in handy.
The ratchets are a bit stiff at first, but have loosened up nicely. Overall I would recommend this kit."

"I bought this set to have in my car, within a week it made it to my work truck. The quality of the ratchets and sockets is outstanding. The wrenches are not as pollished as the others but still work fine, and I'm not afraid to torque on them in a tight spot. I ended up ordering two more sets for coworkers. For this price don't hesitate."

Lots of Tools, Little Price,
November 19, 2008
By ahatcher from Dallas, TX
"I have been using this tool set for over 3 years in some very tough conditions -- I carry it with me in my Jeep Wrangler on some very challenging off road trips. When you break down in the middle of nowhere you must make repairs no matter what. This can lead to some -- dare I say it? -- tool ABUSE. Not one item in this set has ever failed me.
I have only one tiny complaint: one of the plastic latches broke on the very low profile tool box that came with my set. Not surprising as rough as I treat the kit and box. So I bought a cheap canvas bag and tossed all the tools in there. I never leave home without them."

Good Quality Tools-Would like better case,
April 22, 2008
By jbeely from Fountaintown, IN
"I am a long time Northern Tool customer buying everything from welder/generators, plasma cutters, and automotive tools. I live on a farm and needed a good extra portable mechanic set. I like the quality of the tools but the case seems flimsy and not as thick as a Huskee set I already have. On top of that, one of the plastic hinges was broken/bent on arrival and likes to come loose. It holds together fine when closed and latched. Would still recommend the tools for the value you get over other brands."

"We bought a set of these to see what they were like, and were very impressed. The tools have a very high quality finish (Better that craftsman). We use the tool kits in our trucks, we liked them so much we bought a kit for every truck."

Good basic tool kit for your garage,
October 29, 2007
By Mel94611 from Oakland, CA
"I bought this tool kit as a XMass present for my husband last year. He used it right away on one of his older cars & was very happy with it. Overall he's used it for repairing bikes, cars, furniture- you name it!
It seems to me that it's a pretty good basic kit- an "old stand by" for tooling around your garage & home. He uses it frequently.
It also comes in a neat storage case which slides in/on your basic shelving without taking up much room. Which I like quite a bit!"

"The sockets and ratchets are good, the individual holder for the screwdriver bits is realy nice. My complaints---The tool box has bad hinges and it will come apart in this area I drilled mine out and ran a welding rod through them and bent it over at the ends. The hand wrenches have done the job but if you plan on abusing them keep in mind they can be sprung at the open end. when you pull out one hand wrench the others fall all over the place and make it difficult to put back in the plastic box. All the other tools have stayed in place, once put back in the box. the trifold case makes it nice for storage behind the seat of my trucks. If you are like me and most of your tools seem to be left at the job sight the quality verses price make this a nice set too purchase."

excellent value,

"VERY GOOD real tool set. Not like the craftsman sets where you get 40-50 tools you will never need/use. Ratchets are great, sockets are of high quality; they replaced craftsman sockets, and the quality is no less. The wrenches leave a little to be desired, but they work just fine. This set includes 12 point sockets, which, you'll never get from ANYWHERE for this price. Also includes a U-joint, and extensions. I'd buy this again, any day of the week.

"I was looking for a good socket set, that had a variety of sockets (6point, 12 point, deep), a few wrenches and some extensions. I looked everywhere comparing tool sets. I found a lot of sets out there that would advertising "350 pc's for $120.00" YA RIGHT! When it came down to it, there were about 50 tool pc's and 300 connectors and wire ties! The Northern Tool Set was exactly what I was looking for. Plus the blowmolded case actually holds the tools in place and is very compact. For the price...This set can't be beat!! And to think of all the money I spent in the past with Snap-On and Mac. I'm sure to check Northern Tool FIRST, from here on out.
Thank You
