Good Little Compressor

"I've had this compressor for about 3 months now and it has been working well. The build quality on this seems very nice and it's much more heavy duty than my previous compressor.
I have used it for running air tools and to paint furniture and it has done the job well. I replaced a 8 Gallon compressor with this one and the extra volume really helps.
I would definitely recommend this to any hobby user with moderate air tool usage. However, for continued large air tools you might want a higher CFM unit."

"This thing seems well made and it is quite heavy. However, in less than two weeks of use, I'm having to contact them about a defective motor. It's probably the centrifugal switch or bad capacitor, but it won't start up anymore. I hope to contact them tomorrow and hope to get the parts shipped out, I'd hate to swap the whole unit out, as this is a heavy item to be shipping back and forth! I will update my review once I can adequately review their warranty service."

Excellent Air Compressor for the Money

"This is an excellent air compressor for the money spent with one of the best flow ratings for a 110V compressor. I have had it for about six months and am very satisfied with it. It is very quiet compared to the oil-less compressors I have used in the past. I can be using it in the garage with the baby sleeping on the opposite side of the wall. So far I have used it mostly for filling tires and running an impact gun which it has done flawlessly. I plan on using it to paint and run a grinder/cutoff wheel in the future which will probably be the real tests. If you are looking for a good mid-size air compressor for a home shop I would highly recommend this one."

Nice for the Price

"Overall I'm pleased with this purchase. On the plus side the unit is generally well designed and ruggedly built. It is much quieter than my 30 year-old Craftsman 1hp compressor and largely vibration free. The large tires make it easy to move and the rubber feet under the front end dampen what little vibration there is. The pump has a sight-glass which clearly shows the oil level and the drain tube extends well beyond the base of the pump so it should easier and less messy to drain/change the oil. The automotive-style air filters are readily accessible and should be easier to clean/replace than the felt-like pads on my old compressor. There is a strip of flat steel across the handle bars that has pre-drilled holes to allow attaching a small box to hold air chucks, tire gauge, etc - a nice touch. Assembly is minimal, i.e., two large bolts for the wheels and two smaller bolts to secure the handle. On the minus side, I wish the unit had been better packaged. It comes cased in that wimpy recycled cardboard so look for and expect a few dings in transit (mine were minor and didn't affect function, but still...!) The gauges for both the tank and regulator pressure face the front handle so you need to bend down to see them clearly (not a biggie, but not as nice as front or top facing gauges). I also had an issue with the hole in one handle bracket not quite lining up with the threaded hole in the handle, but 10 seconds with a Dremel tool easily fixed that. Note you will need to buy and add compressor oil for the pump, then "run it in" for 20 minutes with the tank drain open before operating it under pressure. You may also need to adjust the belt tension (mine was very loose) by loosening the four motor mount bolts and sliding the motor fore or aft. Make sure you have a good set of metric open-end or combo wrenches since access to these motor mount bolts is tricky (especially the back ones). Bottom line: This is a good value for the money if you are looking for a general purpose compressor for home and garage service."

Premium quality compressor

,
March 15, 2013

"I was tired of my oilless compressor (4.9cfm 4 gallon) cycling on/off and buzzing away.
This compressor meets or exceeds all units in the 110v 15amp class. Great output for moderate/reasonably paced work with air ratchet, 1/2" impact wrench, touch up spray guns. Has the cfm and duty cycle to even continue worry free moderate use of these when the cut in has been reached (105psi). 1/4" regulator has no trouble with nailers and other low flow tools. Even the 1/2" impact performs great for quick blasts required for 95% of fasteners. However, the flow characteristics of a 1/4" regulator hit the wall with prolonged use of high flow items. I see a 30-40 psi drop at the regulator when holding down the impact wrench for a few seconds. I haven't measured the drop by the time it gets to the tool, but I will be putting a 3/8" disconnect pre regulator, directly off the tank.
Regardless, it is a great compressor which rolls around easily and is built to a high quality standard. I look forward to projects with such a dependable unit on hand."
