"at first I thought this ax was a bit heavy but now realize why you want it this way, the weight helps cut even the hardest wood, this is a fine ax and I am very happy with the purchase. Very study, this one will last forever."

Good axe

"This is a good axe for basic work. I use it to split the smaller pieces of firewood that I've already split with my Roughneck 6-Lb. Maul (which is great, by the way). I wouldn't use it for sustained periods of time as the fiberglass handle is a bit bouncy and vibrates more that a wooden handle; but don't get me wrong, this is a very durable tool and will serve you well."

Well made, a little light

"Perhaps it is unfair to say this is a light duty axe as the weight is clearly advertized. My point is that you'd probably want something heavier to chop down a tree and something even lighter as a hatchet. This fits in the middle and I have found it more useful for whacking at roots than for serious tree work. Still, it is well made and is comfortable to use. No regrets."
