"I bought it on a Friday afternoon, and busted the head off Sunday morning. Don't get me wrong, I expected to break it, just not in the middle of my first tree! The handle had a separate inner core that completely shattered, leaving it unrepairable. The cushion below the head was also a bad idea. It started to catch, and rip on the burled white oak."

"I recently broke the wooden handle on my 8 pound maul and got to looking for something better. Enter the Roughneck 8 pound maul. Nice fiberglass handle, perfect weight, almost makes splitting wood enjoyable. Definitely a quality piece."

"Woodcutting is no fun. Driving wedges through hardwood isn't for sissies. I tried a friends maul after watching him bust 12" white oak logs apart with ease. I've since replaced my sledge and wedge with this 8# maul and I don't think I'll ever go back. Even my son commented on how much easier it was and the fiberglass handle holds up well. I haven't replaced a handle this year !
Anything that takes a step of the splitting saves me energy and this maul does it. If you cut wood, you need this tool."
