By far the best trimmer I have ever used. Weed eating is still not fun, but this trimmer makes it much more easier. The reconditioned trimmer looked and operated just like a brand new one. I've used it for five months now with no problems whatsoever. Should have bought this one a long time ago.
I purchased a Husqvarna Reconditioned 224L 4-Stroke Straight Shaft Trimmer from Northern Tool about 18 months ago. It preforms great and starts w/ ease. Has all the power I need and has good balance when handling. I use it weekly through the spring, summer and fall to maintain the exterior of my house and the 1/3 mile road that leads to my driveway. If you need a dependable and strong trimmer, this is the one!
The only reason this product did not get 5 stars is when they went through the reconditioning process at the factory they didn't hook something back up in the shaft, which caused the head to not spin. After 2 days at the shop I got it back and it works like a dream. It is powerful, quiet, and no more mixing oil. This is a beast.
Received the first 224L. It worked okay, but I hung it up after an hour of use. Next morning there was a puddle of oil that leaked out the engine, down through the shaft and onto the floor. Sent it back
Received the second one. It did not start very easily and burned a lot of oil. I assume that the oil was getting into the carb. There was lots of unburned oil near the exhaust.
I don't believe Husqvarana tests these trimmers thoroughly before sending them out to be sold.
