Model 2270 fails after 12 months,

"I am on my 5th Northstar Model 2270 pump during the last 3 years. After every use I purge the pump with plain water; nonetheless, at about 10 months, they start to produce less line pressure and then quit completely at 14 months. The pumps are used for about 2 hours each week. This is clearly a low quality item. Northstar offers no explanation or recourse for this, except to offer to sell you another pump. I suggest everyone do as I am now doing and avoid buying Northstar pumps."

Needed a new pump,

"My old pump motor (shurflo 1gpm, 60psi) gave out after 10 years of hard service, and I needed to replace it. So I decided to try the NorthStar 12 Volt On-Demand Diaphragm Pump — 2.2 GPM @ 70 PSI, and was not disappointed with it. I have two sprayers, one for roundup and one for insecticides, and I'm debating about buying another NorthStar pump one for the other sprayer (Shurflo 1.8gpm, 60psi). I would recommend this pump for replacement or a step up for more volume and pressure."

bought 8 and none lasted a month,

"i have bought over 100 surflo pumps in the last 12 years , i thought i would give the northstar a try. big mistake, i own a pest control company and the down time these pumps would cost me was way more than the savings. 3 or 4 of the pumps would leak from the pressure switch right away and the quit working 2 or 3 days later. the other ones lasted 2 or 3 weeks and then would stop working with out warning. when i called norstar for service i was put on hold for over 30 minutes 3 times never did talk to anyone, expensive lesson!!!"

"On our farm we have need to transfer water from one tank to another when electric is not advailable. this pum has worked well, I don't have to drag out the large 2" engine powered pump for the small tanks anymore."

Excellent Replacement Pump,

"I purchased this pump to replace the original one on my pull behind sprayer. While Northern no longer sells my sprayer, this pump was a perfect replacement. The specifications were almost identical to the original pump and it fit perfectly. I did not have to change a thing on the sprayer to connect it.
I noticed no performance degradation with the new pump. I am very pleased."

NorthStar Replacement Pump,

"I was very pleased with the NorthStar 12-volt replacement diaphram pump because it matched up perfectly with anothr brand on my portable tree sprayer.
When I got my device out to spray my fruit trees in the Spring, the pump failed. I took it apart to try and fix it but without success. I went on line with Northern Tool and found the NorthStar replacement. The price was right and it was shipped promptly. I was expecting to have to modify the mounting plate and connection since the existing pump was a different brand. However, everything matched perfectly. Thanks Northern Tool + Equipment."
