The dethatcher worked well it pulled alot of the old dead grass ot from the lawn. Have tried other types of dethatchers this has worked the best. For the money it is a good tool to have. The only problem was the clevis pin to hold the chain which held hold the tines up in the travle position are weak, they bent after the first use.
I have bought several items from Northern Tool and would highly recommend them for what ever items you would want to purchase. Staff is great. But, the thatcher I bought works great. Have not had to adjust up or down to get it to work. Only problem I had was I did not mark which set of tines go on right side to insure thatching or raking. This makes a bit of a difference. No biggie though, just pull a pin and switch them around. Easy to use, both men or woman can use this. It does a very good job for what it is.
I wounld recommend this rake any the had a big yar

I have alot of pine trees. so I bougth this rake too pick up pine needlies and cones does a great job. This is the frist time I raked the pine needles and cones. It did take a couple of passes to get up because they had been pack dowen over the years. The tines are not long enough for tall grass or weeds great for nomal use/yard. It has chain to use for the ajustments on the rake tines. this not very prised. That is the only thing I do not like about it . I would like to see something like calbe some you could get the tines close to the ground. I had to just let the tines drop on the ground to do a good job.. I may try ajustin the air psi in the tires maybe that will be better way of ajustment I first had tine set all they did was pull up the pine needles And I flip the arms on the tines so they would rake up in a wind row. Over all it is a great for grass and pines and etc. The same rake deffent brand but same size at a local retailer chian was $400.00 I have had this rake for a mouth it is will buildt strong steel pipe. should last a long time
Well...I bought this rake hoping to be able to rake hay. I found out that the rake does not work well with long grass or weeds. The grass or weeds gets tangled up and you have to get off the tractor to untangle it. If what you cut is less than 8 inches long, it works pretty well. The width on it is only 4 feet so it makes a lot of rows. I still don't have a good way to pick the grass up, so I have to rake a lot of rows by hand. It does work, but I wish it raked about a 10 foot path. That would probably cost more money and I'm on a budget. I will continue to use it, until I can afford something better.
