" I have owned similar lights in the past with less than stellar results and performance. They leaked during snow and rain storms and the batteries would hold minimum charge. These lights were first, sold at a terrific price and seem to be of better quality than my previous lights. I have swapped out the 600MaH NiCad batteries that came with the units with 1000MaH. With decent sun, I can get up to 9hrs out of them. Have not had any weather to speak of yet so the weather proofing will yet to be determined. All in all, a good light for the money. One note: Before installing into hard or frozen ground, use a dowel rod or something similar to make a starter hole. This will alleviate any cracking or breaking of the shaft or end piece. Also, put your posts in first, then mount the lights on the posts and don't forget to turn the units on in either steady or flash. This eliminates a lot of cussing and also protect the light unit from being hammered in. "
