Lack of Controls and Fan = Possible Danger

"A neighbor of mine bought several of these and, as I generally buy one every few years I just bought one of his. This heater is not up to the standards of the milk house heaters I've seen in the past from Northern. The skimpy controls are one thing. But the lack of a fan will cause the heater to run longer to heat the space than it would with a fan, allowing more heat to build up in the enclosure. It will also burn out the elements quicker too. Look for something with a fan you can see as well as a "thermostat type" control. You know, warm, medium, hot. Also, I don't believe it was made this way purposefully and so is a flaw, but when knocked over it keeps heating. It should automatically shut off if tipped too much or turned on its' side. (Mrs. O'Leary would have a FIT!)"

not real impressed

"purchased this in anticipation of replacing a 20 year old portable heater. Not impressed with this new one at all. coils barely get hot, and the fan does not circulate the 'warm' air produced from it. Maybe my wife can use it under her desk to keep her feet warm. But dont expect much else from this heater. very disappointed."

"this heater is not to fancy two clicks and this thing if off to the races it will take awhile but it will heat up a small room hot as you want, it goes in my masterbath but i have used it to heat a 12x15 size room which it did well but it will run as it has no auto switch off so you have to watch it for the price it is a good deal"
